The scoopers literally make something up about every DC film, with the exception of The Batman and Flash, surprisingly. Even Blue Beetle has a rumor pop up about a drive by on set and it only being 50% done 😂

Don’t ever underestimate nostalgia, ever! Bale is the Batman for Millennials but Keaton is the Batman for Gen X! Anecdotal evidence but my older coworkers who were kids/teens when Keaton Batman came out lost their minds seeing him back and now want to see Flash! My parents reacted the same

The Flash is about to dominate June! Wonder Woman went up against Transformers, The Mummy, Guardians 2 and Cars yet it made a lot of money. Same will happen with Flash! Great trailer!!

Judging by recent test screenings and their descriptions (Spiderverse + Iron Man), I think your expectations will be met. I’m expecting a good time and comedy gold from Xolo/George Lopez interacting.

I’m talking about the DCU films not the standalone ones. The Batman doing decent numbers does nothing for the shares cinematic universe because that character won’t be interacting with the others… same with Joker

When will we finally get another big DCEU hit?! It’s been way too long! Shazam was a modest hit due to its low budget, Birds of Prey flopped, TSS flopped and now Black Adam is a flop. Im not counting WW84 and TSS for obvious reasons, but if I were WB I’d stop green lighting lesser known characters, even if the budget is lower, until the universe is back on track and able to support said characters like the MCU. Still excited for Blue Beetle but Black Adam’s current performance has me nervous!

Yeah that’ll be a problem that I don’t see being fixed anytime soon. I’m guessing Zaslav will just reboot? And re do the series, this time closer to the books? I mean it has been 20+ years since the first film… plenty of time for a reboot…

Ahh the return of the Game of Thrones effect! I myself am excited for the finale! Team Black!! I say leave Meg 2 in August, put Blue Beetle in September (for Hispanic Heritage month, plus Shang Chi and It proved September can have blockbusters too), then move Nun 2 to October… you’re welcome WB!

Umm Blue Beetle was also in the Injustice games (and the majority of DC’s mobile games), as well as a co-lead on Batman: Brave and the Bold. The second season of Young Justice also revolved around him and he was a Teen Titans member in the two DCAMU animated films, plus he’s been in live action twice (Smallville and DC Nation). I wouldn’t say he’s a D-lister, he’s definitely a B-lister, for now. Fun Fact: The Blue Beetle franchise has more solo comics stories than Dr Fate, The Atom and Hawkman.

I’m excited for Blue Beetle! His costume looks so cool in set pics! Imagine how it’ll look after CGI touch ups! I also second the motion that DC completely undervalues both Jaime and Virgil! Both are cult classic fan favorites and it’s a shame they’re not used more in the comics or put on teams more often! You know how many dream Teen Titans/Young Justice lineups I’ve seen with Jaime and Virgil included!?

They’re going to continue to not perform if you continue to look at what Marvel is doing. Those Marvel numbers didn’t happen overnight… DC/WB should stop focusing on Marvel/Disney and do their own thing… also let’s not act like Marvel is without fault, weren’t MOM and Thor 4 considered guaranteed 1 billion dollar hits? How’d that go? Black Adam and Shazam shows me that WB needs to cut back on the budgets and build the audience for their lesser known characters first! Shazam was a success and is getting a sequel because of its budget… Black Adam didn’t earn that 200M budget! Thankfully for DC their next lesser known character (Blue Beetle) is reasonably budgeted and is getting positive test reviews (family dynamic is being praised and it’s a mix of Iron Man 1/ Spiderverse)

Who cares about RT or reviews anymore. I know I don’t. I’ve seen enough badly reviewed films make gangbusters at the box office and critically acclaimed ones do very poorly. This is true even for DC Aquaman and Joker vs Shazam and TSS, the former have questionable reviews but high box office but the latter have great reviews yet poor box office. Seems Black Adam will follow the former and not the latter… which is good because DC needs another financial win!

Moving to September to take advantage of Hispanic Heritage Month?! Plus a lot of Latin American countries celebrate their independence in September as well. September 2023, seems empty enough for BB to succeed. Plus it gives its equal distance between Flash and Aquaman 2.

Never said Marvel was washed up, just that Dr Strange 2 and Thor 4 were supposed to be East billion dollar films like Guardians 3 and The Marvels are currently being hyped up to be… we saw how that turned out, especially with no China anymore. Mermaid has controversial casting and I see it going the Mulan route rather than BatB or Aladdin. Indy 5 is a little too late… like I said bold predictions but I’m sticking to them. Flash will be the highest grossing film next year

Mermaid and Indy aren’t going to be bullion dollar films, 100%. Guardians will likely go the Dr Strange/Thor 4 route and also not make a billion… bold predictions, I know but I’d bet Aquaman 2 beats all 3 edit: even with the controversy, I see the Flash being the number one film next year, given it’s an A-list character, Keaton is returning as Batman, Supergirl (another A-list character) is debuting and all the buzz surrounding its test screenings being so high (TDKT levels). Plus all the cameos, Flash is going to be what Dr Strange 2 was hyped up to be lol
