Ahsoka Live Action Series | Disney Plus | August 23
Cap replied to Porthos's topic in Streaming, TV Series, & VOD Movies
I mean, I’m struggling with the concept of new galaxy. but that’s because I’m a jack ass, and every time they say it I keep giggling. Is that where the Kevin Feige Star Wars movie takes place? Is the new galaxy the MCU? Is this how are finally going to get Patton Oswald epic space battle, where Wolverine takes on the Empire. -

The Box Office Buzz, Tracking, and Pre-Sale Thread
Cap replied to Shawn Robbins's topic in Box Office Discussion
My dumbass local theater has four showings sold out for Friday night, and has yet to add more. Saturday’s super open for seats though, so maybe they’re just trying to force people to spill over to the next day. The other theater, owned by the same independent company, in the town over, is basically running the same way. I also don’t know if they change their seats, but it appears that they don’t have it in the giant theater that sat like 300 people… and I’m so confused why it’s not playing in there? Like do they really think anything else is going to fill that theater? -

I, anecdotally, go back to the old female movie going trope: it doesn’t matter how soon you see it, it matters you see it with your squad. She kind of has forced people’s hands by doing it weekend onlys. But all the crazy ass Taylor Moms I know have been talking about: “when can I go when there is less crowds for my kids” and “when are we all going in a group.” Etc, etc. and as I pointed out before, other than her like die-hard, die-hard, I need to do everything on the first day fans, there is no spoiler/immediacy factor to this. It’s not like she’s premiering a new song that you can only hear if you go see the movie. It’s a concert that you can watch on TikTok for free. I have zero doubt she could sell 17 million tickets. I have zero doubt she could sell 30 million tickets. And I’ve seen enough numbers here to know it’s going to be huge. but is the first weekend FOBO really going to dictate people willing to take a shitty seats instead of just waiting to the second weekend for good ones. -

The problem is this doesn’t gel with her cult iconography. It’s gonna be like: 131.3M 198.9M 313,001,989M 397.8M (1989x2) got to make sure that her fans believe like the whole thing is predetermined, because, like she is just such a master mind. -

As some else pointed out in the Eras thread, like 40M tried to get tickets to Eras Tour. There is pent up demand from people who are not movie goers. We always talk about the general audience and what do they want from a movie or what are they going to think. This is kind of a general audience as you’re going to get. There’s going to be tons of people going just because of Taylor Swift, I have not gone to a movie theater in years, it will not go to the movie theater after this for years. Because the kicker is despite some of us baulking at the $20 admission, that is dirt cheap. Her vinyl albums go for like $35-40. The ticket prices were like $200. I don’t even like her, and I’m taking my niece and her two friends. I get to be a super cool aunt, and there’s no FOBO. ETA: and because this is the tracking thread, my local Regal is looking like: Friday: 1 PLF - Sold Out 4 Ref - 1 Sold Out; 2 Front Row Only; 1 99% full -

It beat NWH by 9.1M in sales. LMFAO. That is insane. -
Anecdotally, I opted for the PLF format cause I want the best sound possible. We ended up at 12Pm on Saturday. The other girl factor is this will 100% be a social event. And there is no spoiler factor. All the Swifties have been following along on Twitter from the crowd reports and videos. The set list is known. There is no rush to see this like a comic book rush. The priority is Best Seats and When Can My Friends All Go Together.

Much better than 1 and 2, still not quite there yet. But getting better. -
Hello! So I've got a couple lists coming in. We have a few movies the had soft releases/festival appearances in 1992, and then their wide release in the USA was in 1993. These include, but not limited to: El Mariachi September 15, 1992 (TIFF) / January 8, 1993 (Sundance) / February 26, 1993 (United States) Army of Darkness October 9, 1992 (Sitges) / February 19, 1993 (United States) Strictly Ballroom 20 August 1992 (Australia) / February 12, 1993 (United States) I only got two response when I asked this before, and they were different answers, so I tossed up a poll. As of right now, I'm inclined to include them. But I will go with the group.

None of this is confirmed, yet, officially. some of you are really working yourselves into tizzy, over things that you don’t know, are true, and things that you cannot control. -
