I was more referring to how these movies may very well be critic proof, much like the Transformers movies were for a while. As dumb as FK is, it was nowhere near as painful an experience for me as watching Age of Extinction.

If this movie is poorly received, but makes good bank, then JW will officially be the spiritual successor to Bayformers, except hopefully not quite as stupid.

The teaser on the Avatar YouTube page has been generating a solid number of likes for a non-Marvel thing.

All I know is that it’s probably not going to claim the record of most pages for a single movie. I just looked through the archives and the BvS thread has over 2600 pages, and that’s over a three year period.

Neither Amber Heard nor Johnny Depp have come out of this case looking good. Contrary to what Depp’s fangirls and MRA supporters seem to think, this isn’t going to get him back in good graces with Hollywood, and he knows it. He and his team just want to take Heard down with him. I was previously on Depp’s side, but it’s become clear to me now that there is no one worth rooting for in this drama.

I will say this, the fact that WB was ready to drop Amber Heard, but was perfectly fine keeping Depp as the title character for FB2, isn’t the best look for them.

Regardless of how this movie performs, I think Avatar 3 should stay where it currently is. Going by what Jon Landau claimed, it doesn’t seem like this movie will end of a big cliffhanger, so surely people can wait a couple of years.

Homecoming managed to have strong late legs thanks to being a July release. As far as I’m aware, May releases generally don’t have that luxury. Regardless, people don’t need to freak out about it. Thor: Love and Thunder will probably play better.

I highly doubt they’ll have a Spider-Man movie ready for December 2023.

If this movie needs to get delayed to allow for more time in post-production, I don’t see why it would need to get pushed back an entire year. At this point, it seems unlikely that we’re getting a Star Wars or Star Trek movie in December 2023, so maybe this movie could take that spot.

I don’t think they are. I’m pretty sure it’s been confirmed that this is specifically a Kong film. The trades are just calling it GvK 2 to get more clicks. Also, I’m guessing this is a good day for Legendary Entertainment’s stockholders.

Aren’t Disney test screenings usually done in-house, though? As I recall, the test screenings for WW84 were said to be pretty mixed, and the response to the finished movie reflected that.

Generally, once a movie obtains the certified fresh label, it remains certified fresh, unless the score drops below 70%. This is the first time I’ve seen Rotten Tomatoes give a movie a certified fresh score, only to take it back while the movie is still in the 70% range.

There’s currently a rumor going around that Bryce Dallas Howard is set to direct and star in a Fantastic Four movie. I guess she would play Invisible Woman, if that rumor is to believed. Would she have to dye her hair blonde again?

WB should reconsider their 45 day window when it comes to their bigger movies.
