  1. That’s been the popular fancast for the past two years.
  2. I don’t know why anyone would act like this film has nothing political to say. It clearly does. It just doesn't go out of its way to spell it out for you. The Texas/California thing is still silly, but the meaning behind it isn’t difficult to grasp.
  3. I don’t know if I could buy Charlize Theron as a 20-something year old, even with a lot of makeup.
  4. An A24 film opening at number one is truly a sight to behold.
  5. After having just got back from seeing it, I can see why some would accuse this film of having a “centrist” take on the division in the United States. Ultimately, any potential commentary on the current state of U.S. politics is more of a backdrop to the general anti-war message the movie is going for.
  6. I really wish they killed off Bruce Wayne along with his parents in the first movie so we wouldn’t be having this discussion. Two concurrent Batman film series is questionable enough. Three would be sheer insanity.
  7. Regardless of what you think of the quality of her music, Taylor Swift has an insanely devoted and wide-reaching fanbase. Having her involved in a Marvel movie can only benefit it.
  8. I don’t understand why people would have any desire to see Joaquin Phoenix fight any version of Batman. I thought the point of these movies is that they’re as far removed from the superhero genre as it gets. Why would anyone want this to devolve into yet another Batman story, especially when we’re already supposed to have both the Reeves movies and the upcoming DCU for that? Personally, I always felt that the worst part of the first Joker movie was them doing the death of the Waynes for the millionth time, especially since it made people think they’re building up to Batman.
  9. The Reevesverse already has its own Joker. Also, the first Joker movies takes place in 1981. Bruce’s age wouldn t line up at all.
  10. The Rock is more of a brand than an actual person at this point. Him retracting his endorsement of Joe Biden can be compared to when Michael Jordan famously said “Republicans buy sneakers too”.
  11. I get the impression that this is the biggest wildcard of the year.
  12. Amazon’s LotR at least tells a different story from what came before. We absolutely do not need a seven season Harry Potter show that adapts each of the books.
  13. I guess they want to keep it a surprise. Must be a big name.
  14. No wonder Rowling is onboard with the reboot idea. She wants people to forget about the previous actors.
  15. I’m sure this’ll do fine domestically, but I would expect it to be very overseas heavy, much like the first one.
  16. “A Star Wars Story” ”A Mad Max Saga” ”John Wick Presents” ”The Origin of Batman’s Butler”
  17. Believe, it or not, studios typically don’t set out to make bad movies. That would be a really self-defeating business practice. Telling them to “just make good movies” is the equivalent of telling a sports team to “just play better”.
  18. “Just make good movies” is the most useless advice ever.
  19. Maybe it’s past time to stop giving Jeff Sneider so much attention? Wasn’t the guy fired from Variety 11 years ago for threatening to kill himself over another journalist getting a scoop before him?
