    It seems almost guaranteed that Nomadland will be the big winner tonight. Anyway, I’m not going to be watching the Oscars this year. I’m going to be with family for the day and I don’t have much interest in this year’s Oscars anyway. I’ll just look up the results.

    April has been a huge shot in the arm for the North American box office.

    It does seem very possible that the MCU is building her up to play a more antagonistic role in the future, but I wish we could’ve gotten some acknowledgment of the bad things she did in AoU. You’d think the fact that she was a willing accomplice to HYDRA and that she brainwashed the Hulk into going on a rampage would get brought up in CW, but it doesn’t, probably because it would make it more difficult to take Cap’s side.

    Is it? Box Office Mojo lists it at $9.5 million.

    I can’t say I’m particularly interested in this turning into a debate about anime dubs, but I will say that after having read about how ridiculously big this movie was in Japan, I had a hunch it might’ve done better than expected it North America. Mind you, I didn’t think it’d get a bigger Friday opening than the Mortal Kombat film. Hollywood’s historic dominance at the box office may very well be coming to an end.

    The highest grossing movie of 2020 is going to be an anime film. Who would’ve guessed?

    I never liked Wanda. The fact that her actions in AoU go completely unaddressed in all her future appearances just rubs me the wrong way.

    I have no clue what China’s standards are at this point. The first Suicide Squad didn’t get released over there, but stuff like Logan and the most recent Terminator movie were.

    Maybe, but I’m not convinced Disney is going to let her put that talent to good use.

    After all the fanfare about how Keaton was coming back to play Batman, it would’ve been embarrassing if he ultimately said no.

    Awkwafina is going to be Disney’s next studio darling, alongside people like Josh Gad and Jon Favreau, isn’t she?

    I don’t know if I can say I’m excited for this movie, or any upcoming DCEU movie for that matter, but I’m curious about it.

    Considering the circumstances, this movie is a big hit. If anyone is concerned or disappointed that it isn’t making more, those concerns are misplaced.

    https://comicbook.com/dc/news/the-flash-movie-ezra-miller-now-filming/ So, production for this movie apparently began a couple of days ago? I don’t know how I missed that. The only thing I’m hoping for at this point is that those Christian Bale rumors don’t turn out to be true.

    Did this need to be a Spiderverse film in the first place? The cynical side of me is inclined to think they’re doing this because of the animated movie.

    I wish we could get a new trailer soon, but I’m assuming we won’t be seeing one until August.

    I was starting to wonder if maybe all the multiverse talk for this movie was going to end up being another fake out, but this seems like the most concrete indication that it’s for real, unless Molina is actually lying.

    Universal’s streaming service is Peacock, but there’s been no word on this going directly to that.

    I completely forgot that Charlize Theron has a terrible bowl cut in this movie.

    Gonna have to hard disagree on that. Steppenwolf at least has something resembling depth in this version. That alone makes him superior to his theatrical counterpart. It helps that the movie also makes it clear that he’s just a minion doing someone else’s dirty work, and not the big overarching threat.

    You can just tell that David F. Sandberg is a director who traces his roots to the Internet. I still remember that test screenings video he did.

    So, we’re not getting Mister Mind?

    We didn’t get a trailer for Godzilla vs. Kong until two months before it was released, so I don’t think the current lack of a trailer for this is that surprising.
