  1. Maybe this’ll be the first movie I watch in theaters since lockdowns started last year.
  2. Why did Tim Grierson’s review suddenly switch to being classified as rotten? The review seems fairly positive.
  3. Unfortunately, Vin Diesel apparently insisted that they split the finale’s story into two movies, so I guess there’s supposed to be an 11th film.
  4. You have to know your limits at some point, though. Peacock and Paramount+ (seriously, couldn’t they have called this service “Paramount Peak” instead?) never had a shot at competing with something like Disney+.
  5. I forgot that a lot of critics already saw this movie last year. It was literally one week away from release when lockdowns started.
  6. I mean, I would prefer it if Universal and Paramount both chose to give up on trying to compete in the streaming wars. I suppose I can see the logic in Warner Media having their own streaming service, since HBO does have established brand recognition and they have a pretty extensive library of classic movies, but Universal and Paramount were just plain arrogant to think that people like them enough to justify their own streaming services.
  7. Reading more about this deal, it sounds like it’s probably for the best. AT&T clearly had no idea what they were doing, so they should just stay in their lane. With that said, I’m still praying that none of those proposed NBCUniversal mergers ever come to fruition.
  8. If the Biden administration is fighting to stop Sony (a much smaller company) from acquiring Crunchyroll, I can’t for the life of me imagine why they would let something like this pass.
  9. I’m really tired of hearing about corporate mergers at this point. I remember back when Rupert Murdoch tried to buy Time Warner and everyone just laughed at him because they knew it wouldn’t happen. I miss those days...
  10. After only three years? Damn. What does that mean for HBO Max? That was AT&T’s idea.
  11. China is so finicky when it comes to what Hollywood movies they accept that you kind of have to wonder why it’s even worth it at this point.
  12. Seems like it. Unlike the other major studios, Sony doesn’t really have their own streaming service and there’s been no word on them making any deals for hybrid releases with Netflix or Disney+.
  13. That opening kitchen scene is certainly...something. It looks like the silliness of the first movie is not only still there, but might have even been ramped up.
  14. What are you even talking about? Of course Superman is an alien. What does that have to do with anything? Unless you’re trying to suggest that the actors who play Superman are also aliens, your argument makes no sense. My point was that there are characters who have donned the Superman mantle in the comics who happen to be black (which you conveniently left out when you quoted me) and it would seem a little cynical for WB to just ignore those characters in favor of making the most well known version of Superman black. It’s like they’re saying that the black Supermen from the comics aren’t good enough.
