  1. It’s crazy to think that if BvS hadn’t been a dud, we wouldn’t be getting all these different versions of these characters right now.
  2. Both Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton’s Batmen are set to be in the Flash movie, and Walter Hamada stated that they’re doing the multiverse approach moving forward, where different versions of a character can coexist on the big screen. Their idea seems to be to just throw everything at the wall and see what sticks.
  3. Out of curiosity, which one do people here think is more likely: that they’ll make Clark Kent black or that they’ll use someone like Calvin Ellis or Val-Zod instead?
  4. They’re still making films set in the continuity that Snyder started, including Wonder Woman 3 and Aquaman 2, so for whatever reason, the “DCEU” still seems to be a thing.
  5. As much as I would’ve liked to have seen Henry Cavill come back for one more film, it looks like that ship has sailed. WB doesn’t seem interested in capitalizing on his recent surge in popularity, which is their choice. I just wish they would scrap everything connected to that universe at this point.
  6. There was a rumor from 2018 that Michael B. Jordan would be playing Superman. That rumor will probably get reinvigorated now that Ta Nehisi Coates is writing a Superman movie. I don’t know if WB would be bold enough to make Clark Kent black though, so maybe he’d play Calvin Ellis?
  7. By the way, what’s with the title of this thread? The article by Deadline seems certain that this is a reboot. Granted, the term “reboot” is used for everything nowadays, but it doesn’t seem like a term they would use in this case.
  8. Well, that settles it, the “DCEU” has no reason to exist at this point. I just hope they don’t set this in the same universe as The Batman.
  9. Two concurrent Batman franchises was already pushing things, but two concurrent DC movie universes? I personally hope that isn’t true, because if it is, why?
  10. This is reminding me of when the Russo brothers kept trolling people on what the title for Avengers 4 was going to be.
  11. It’s a little weird to me that we’re getting a movie like this from DC in 2022. For a while there, I really thought they were done with this whole thing, and would just focus on standalone movies from here on out. I still don’t think it’s a good idea to have all these different Batmen in a single year. It’s even more frustrating when we can’t even seem to get another Superman movie.
  12. At this point, I’d be surprised if any of the Sequel Trilogy characters got their own Disney+ show. Outside of maybe Kelly Marie Tran, the actors seem to just be done with Star Wars.
  13. Now that I think about it, the only explanation I can think of is that she’s going to be a Supergirl from an alternate universe. That seems like the only organic way for her to be introduced into this setting.
  14. I figured they’d get a different composer for this. Michael Giacchino seems way too busy at the moment.
  15. Is this movie seriously going to keep filming until next month? This must be an exhausting shoot.
  16. I know it’s not filler. None of the MCU movies technically qualify as filler. I’m merely saying that this doesn’t seem like it will have significant ramifications, relatively speaking.
  17. I don’t think anyone is arguing that this wouldn’t have made money without COVID. It obviously would have. It just doesn’t seem like one of the more exciting films of Phase 4. It’s set in the past and stars a character who’s canonically dead in the present, so that seems like it would limit the hype around it. If any upcoming Marvel film could go directly to streaming, it would be this one.
  18. 2018 was a very interesting year for the box office. Obviously, Marvel dominated the year, no questions asked, but I don’t think anyone could’ve predicted the kind of monster hit that Black Panther ended up being. It even made more domestically than IW. How insane is that? The Incredibles 2 and Aquaman were also surprises, as was Halloween to a lesser extent.
