  1. I definitely wasn’t expecting to hear this. Still, is Raimi going to do well working closely under Feige’s supervision? Spider-Man 3 didn’t exactly pan out too well, and Raimi had the least amount of creative freedom for that one.
  2. 2020 seems like a pretty laid back year for Disney, compared to the absolute insanity that was 2019, so maybe some other studio can rise above them this year.
  3. I’m not necessarily arguing with you there (although I’ve only seen a couple of episodes), but a lot of people think that it’s the best Disney era Star Wars content thus far. All I’m saying is that it has a pretty big fanbase.
  4. It’s not really that wild. Disney has unfortunately monopolized the entertainment industry in the past decade, so they have a lot of content to provide for their streaming platform. Plus, a lot of people love The Mandalorian and that little green gremlin of theirs. Even the guys at RedLetterMedia like the show. What I find far more surprising is how many subscribers Apple TV Plus apparently has. Seriously, what the hell does that service have to offer?
  5. Did she? She was cast as Mera before she accused Johnny Depp of abusing her. Beyond that, she hasn’t gotten that many other roles in recent years.
  6. I’ve known that Amber Heard was a ticking time bomb for two years now. Back when I was waiting for the first Aquaman movie, I kept wondering if Amber Heard’s scandal with Depp would blow up in her face and impact the film’s release. Turns out it didn’t then, but now that the scandal officially has blown up in her face, this creates an interesting conundrum for the sequel. The simplest option would be to just recast her, but movies don’t really seem to do that anymore, at least not for characters with human faces. Sure, the MCU recast Rhodey and Bruce Banner and TDK recast Rachel, but that was a different point in Hollywood. The landscape has changed since then. Personally, I’d prefer if they just not include Mera in the sequel at all. Maybe use the animated midquel as a way of writing the character out of the story.
  7. Didn’t Fate of the Furious suggest that he has serious qualms about harming children? Was he just not aware that Brian had a kid?
  8. I didn’t even realize they brought Justin Lin back, just like I didn’t realize that David Leitch directed Hobbs and Shaw.
  9. As I’m reading through the book, I can’t help but wonder if this might’ve been better off as a GoT style show on HBO or Netflix.
  10. The better question is, where will they release the sequel (assuming there is one)? The next bunch of Decembers are going to be filled with Avatar films and Star Wars films.
  11. I don’t see how anyone could say that this movie doesn’t have “a single bankable star”. The star power for this thing is pretty solid. You got Timothee Chalamet, Jason Momoa, Zendaya, Josh Brolin, Dave Bautista, and Oscar Isaac. These are all known actors.
  12. The J.J. Abrams films did at least manage to cross $200 million domestically. The problem is that Star Trek just doesn’t seem to be popular overseas. Then again, there’s certainly no guarantee that this film will do well overseas either...
  13. Every Trek film has fallen below that. Before the 2009 film, not a single Star Trek movie had even managed to cross $200 million worldwide.
  14. I’m enjoying the book so far, although I don’t know if this is something that would resonate with people as a big end of the year blockbuster.
  15. You mean in terms of being the movie the tweets are talking about? Perhaps. In all honesty, despite my vocal dislike for Harley Quinn as a character and concept, I’d be lying if I said that I want BoP to be a bad movie, so if nothing else, I do hope it doesn’t get a critical thrashing.
  16. The DC vs. Marvel rivalry didn’t start in 2008, if that’s what anyone is suggesting.
  17. I don’t know if there will be sequels, but if there is one, the obvious course of action would be to bring in Tails, Knuckles and Metal Sonic.
  18. I don’t know why they’re bothering with making an original song for this movie. Just play Running in the 90s over the credits and call it a day.
  19. I don’t know how much of the movie was J.J. Abrams’ fault, but The Rise of Skywalker has made me even less interested in seeing his production company tackle anything DC related.
