Eh-just make a CGI fest with de-aged Luke, Han, and Leia (Billie Lourd has already done fill-in work for Leia) and have Thrawn as the main baddie. Throw in characters from D+ shows and BOOM, there you go! People always wanted the trio together for one last romp through the galaxy. Do it. Filoni and Favreau are already most likely planning to do it for D+ anyway, what with all the rumors of Mando, Ahsoka, and Skeleton Crew tie-ins with Thrawn. They've already de-aged Hamil/Luke, with better results the second time and it looks like they are doing the same for Ford in Indy 5.

I predicted that it would be released to D+ right after MLK weekend so if it is true, it's right on target. Makes sense.

That's actually VERY true! That, and the fact that as of right now, Avatar has pretty much a 100% monopoly on the technology/visuals it uses. If other studios understood this and put forth what is needed to give movie goers experiences worth paying for which is what movie theaters desperately need. If TGM and Ava2 showed us anything, it shows or at least hints at what future movies need to be successful.

This thing would have KILLED it in the Christmas slot. Still happy about how it's done over the Christmas holiday, especially this week.

Had BPWF been THE Christmas release this year, I wonder if its numbers would have been similar to Ava2 (with the same OW that it got in November). Still predicting that Ava2 will end up around $550m domestic. I think BPWF would have done the same if it were in Ava2's spot. In other words, with the same release date, BPWF would still have the bigger OW, but Ava2 would clearly have a bigger multiplier, both ending up with roughly the same domestic total.

I was thinking the same thing today.

That would suffice for a dislike in style. It doesn't really call for hate though.

With those Christmas numbers, Av2 should definitely be able to reach $500 m domestic now. Probably over TROS and possibly over Rogue One/Dark Knight.

Well, not to swirl it all back to BP in this weekend (it's still a player though), but I think people can agree that there are no real glaring problems with BPWF other than what was sadly thrown at the world. Coogler put his heart into the movie and it was a very good movie and I think that a third one, when the time is right, will be bigger than the second.

Looking at how certain franchises flip flop all over the place got me thinking of one possibly MOST consistent franchise in terms of reviews and box office performance: Harry Potter. Notice I did not say wizarding world, just Harry Potter.

$50 million is too low for the weekend.. Probably closer to $60, but not $50. Friday: $19 m Saturday $14 m Sunday $27 m ($60m weekend, $256.8m total) Then: Monday: $28m Tuesday: $20m Wednesday: $18m Thursday: $17 m Weekend #3 Friday: $17.5 m Saturday: $13.0m Sunday: $16.5m ($47 m, $386.8m total) That will be between 75%-80% of the total. Total domestic box office run between $483.5m to $515m. Ironically, that is where a lot of people thought BPWF would end up. It is possible, although unlikely with the holds we've been seeing, that it will be 70% of the total which would put it at $552.6 m.

Avatar 2 under TROS domestic? THAT would be something.
