  1. same. (you are funny tho) was expecting @WandaLegion to win
  2. To all talking about Crazy Rich Asians in last page ( @TwoMisfits @Jamiem @Darth Lehnsherr) , if you like the genre, watch this one. I loved it. Trailer don't have subs 😕 It's available on Netflix and Prime Video in India, I think will be in America and ANZ as well. One with subs. https://www.primevideo.com/detail/0RZECX999TBLKKMXKAMMVY67M3/ref=atv_sr_def_c_unkc__1_1_1?sr=1-1&pageTypeIdSource=ASIN&pageTypeId=B01MDO1A1L&qid=1614683853
  3. February Movies The Eight Hundred - I think I would have liked the film more if known the full context and Mandarin. There are four really good scenes which work universally. Well, 5 for those. 5/10 Freaky - Really liked the romantic leads. Misha was fun. 6/10. Mad Max: Fury Road - I am not really big on action, this one was quite good, again not for the action or chase per se, just the flow. 7/10. Promising Young Woman - 7/10 Judas and the Black Messiah - The film is not bad by any way but follows the same structure of "rat" in a revolutionary group which is done way way too often. 6/10. Drishyam 2 - It wasn't awful and that is a big win in itself, though should have been avoided with third act of film being perhaps too "filmy". 5/10. Indian - I was expecting something visionary considering all the high praises, but it is extremely dated and routine stuff. 2/10. A Hard Day - Thought it will end after the certain car explosion but it continues for a routine hand to hand combat which though not bad but lacked any real tension, could have been avoided. 7/10. Social Network (Rewatch) - I have watched and liked this earlier but this time it made me feel... so small. 8/10. Fight Club (Rewatch) - I get the funny part of it and third act really lifts it, but don't get the part where getting beaten up gives kick to somebody, and there it kinda lost me. 6/10. Movie of the Month - Social Network and A Hard Day. TV Wanda Vision - This is going well, and weekly thoughts I give in the main thread. Let's see how they end it.
  4. The surprise to me was way it trended. It barely dopped in first 3 weeks.
  5. Naa the film was Average only and did bad in SEA iirc. Donno what America saw in it.

  7. Unfortunately MTC 3 and MTC 2 are closed so Menor can't post the numbers, hopefully @keysersoze123 pays a visit.
  8. I am yet to get cS access back as there isn't still a regular flow of films in US from India yet. I expect by May I will get it back. Even then WB isn't sharing the numbers on cS, so they won't be available anyways.
  9. Going back in the thread, I almost forget that official weekend tracking was a thing. 🙄
  10. It can happen actually. If this steaming thing works in US and rich western countries, they can easily fill in the overseas theatrical business loss for studio in Asia and LATAM. Netflix has a $8-9B revenue in US alone. Disney in 2019 had roughly $4B revenue from the box office, despite consumers paying $10.5B for their product. Fortunately in Asia we have our local industry, which can't survive on digital and need theaters. So future may be interesting. These Western cinemas need to fight for their future.
  11. Don't know about Western developed markets, but if markets where piracy is rampant want to survive, theaters will have to straight-out boycott the films which don't respect the window.
  12. If they want future, they must resist. In fact, Regal strategy has been best IMO. Close the theaters till no regular theatrical releases.
  13. Ideally I would say T&J clearly bigger bet/IP at box office than Raya but folks on forum think Raya is having better buzz so I don't think it will open lower than T&J. If the reason you think it will open lower is no release in Cinemark, don't consider that a big factor IMO. The AMC alone can give a $10M weekend if audience is there.
  14. Doctor Strange trailer - 13 April Thor: Ragnarok - 17 April The November releases we had. So I think trailer is still a month and half to go.

Onward opened $40M with full market, though not sure how much of it was impacted by the COVID, if at all. Raya opening half of that with much worse COVID situation and 60% (?) open market, well lets see.
  16. Not releasing in Cinemark will probably be of some impact in sites where only theater is Cinemark. Otherwise the audience will go to some other theater. Simple. Since we are talking abt $20-25M or about 2-2.5M people it isn't really an capacity issue.
  17. Yeah probably $15-20M in Japan. Korea another $1.5M may be. ANZ another $3M may be. About $20-25M in current markets, at higher end will leave $22M approx behind 800.
