  1. I know that and I didn't said IW was rotten or something. Though gotta admit it may be read like that, but it was midnight so... Anyways what I meant was, "I stopped caring about CBM/MCU when a bunch of them criticised IW for cliffhanger ending" Because that just explained how they had no idea about how things work and they are the reason IW isn't 90+ on RT like EG, despite being much better film.
  2. Yeah in that case it's a B. My ratings goes like 8 - A 6-7 - B 4-5 - C 2-3 D 1 - F
  3. Yeah not only Raya, Soul too felt like nobody really knows about it until the WOM spread and since it was OTT release all the hype almost died in the week.
  4. Ofc. Even WV ha great review only. I am saying that when I saw a large chunk of critics complaining about that, I realised there view means shit for CBMs.
  5. One thing I feel studios aren't really getting is that these streaming service/revenue they can/should replace with TV and Home media and attack Netflix. Instead they are trying to replace theaters and attack cinemas. Even the normal discourse is such only. Way Warner and Disney are going, that may be the case may be, by spoiling the audience giving movie day and date to stream at home. Truth be told, I am never setting my foot in theater for non-event film if they keep spoon-feeding me the films at home.
  6. I stopped caring about what these critics feel about CBM/MCU films day I read them criticising Infinity War cliffhanger ending, as in this doesn't feels like a complete film. There opinion means very little, and not at all on CBMs. Most of them are old blokes.
  7. I suppose you aren't regularly buying films digitally right? There are millions doing that tho.
  8. I think this debate was settled during Mulan itself. Owning a film on Disney+ with PA is similar to owning a film on Digital platforms like Google Play Movies, etc.
  9. People in West are paying $20 for buying films on digital platforms 3 months after release. $30 on day and date release is quite okay IMO.
  10. I mean Coco was great but it only did $200M something. Last few years had Disney releasing many sequel animation, the general expectations from their animations have blown too high.
  11. Insanely popular characters vs Raya (who?) Animations are not a big deal here in India but T&J has done $875k so far. WW84 did $1.4M in full run iirc.
  12. On Disney+ free? because it's on Disney+ everywhere where Disney+ is there with PA.
  13. Just to be clear, it's not Cinemark refused to play Raya but Disney didn't give their film on lower terms. I am not sure how much Hollywood studios get, but Indian films get as high as 60% from Cinemark while AMC and Regal are usually 45-50%. And again, the only loss from Cinemark is probably where Cinemark is the only theater or best theater of area. It's not like AMC or other theaters were overflowing with demand. Yeah I guess some folks would have missed it for some membership they have with Cinemark or whatever. Raya opened lower than T&J in almost every market in the world. T&J is just bigger IP. I wasn't really seeing how Raya open bigger than T&J but since most here were thinking so, so I guess... That said, going by 2nd weekend, I think T&J will do around $40-45M DOM. Raya if WOM is there, can still catch it. Internationally it will beat T&J almost certainly if weekend trend is anything to go by.
  14. Donno if Disney will attempt a Europe release, but I am sorta confident on Raya actually beating T&J worldwide on strength of overseas. Current OS markets shall leg to $60-65M ish. There's a Saudi Arabia left which can shell $3-7M depending on competition.
  15. Where did you got that tho? Neither of Boxoffice, Borreport, Gitesh tweeted.
  16. Raya has good trend everywhere during weekend internationally. It's too low so won't be breaking out big, but legs will be good. Friday was around $2.5M internationally, Sunday will be close to $6.5M. overall weekend around $16M range. Some countries numbers for Friday and Sunday as compared with (T&J weekend) China - $1.38M & $3.2M ($4.4M & $3.1M) Russia - $0.33M & $1.2M ($0.5M & $1.4M) Korea - $0.11M & $0.41M ($0.09M & $0.17M) Japan - $0.06M & $0.25M Vietnam - $0.02M & $0.1M
  17. 113k weekend for Raya. Guessing around 650-800k full run.
  18. Bố Già a local Vietnam film will do $1M on Sunday with around 50% occupancy. This is biggest I have seen a film do in single day in Vietnam since re-opening. Overall weekend of $2.2M. Raya opened #3 with $200K weekend. Sunday $100K.
  19. Raya not looking too hot in Hoyts few locs I checked randomly. I will say some A$250k Sunday, probably A$750K weekend. Though not 1% sure about it.
  20. Alrighty Zootopia Wreck it Ralph Moana Big Hero 6 Frozen Raya and the Last Dragon Ralph Breaks the Internet Tangled Frozen II 1-5 are awesome. 6-8 good. Frozen II is only bad-ish.
