  1. I don't think it is at all. Japan is quite different from Asia, resonates more with Europe.
  2. Say $16.5mn overall. Using the normal ratios, that gives just under $40mn Approx of overall pre-sales so far, with previews at $16mn Approx & $36mn weekend. I wonder, how much AMC and Cinemark you are covering.
  3. @A Marvel Fanboy If Joker was released in China, was $75mn a good number or it would have exploded. In Hong Kong and Taiwan, Joker did $17mn compared to $7mn of Shazam, $17.5mn of Wonder Woman and $23.5mn of Captain Marvel, that suggests, $90-110mn but Hong Kong and Japan numbers might be inflated a bit due to Mainland ban I guess.
  4. Joker is around $295mn in Europe and will cross $325mn Approx. Coupled with Japan which have similar taste, that reaches $365mn Approx, out of the total $700mn Approx, that it seems like will do. Captain Marvel in same market set did $205mn. In WW-US-C-Euro-J, CM did $342mn while Joker will do $335mn, $7mn lead. CM will have a lead of $80mn in NA. Joker $160mn in Euro/Japan. CM by default $155mn lead in China. In the end, CM will have that $90mn lead of NA in her hand. Extrapolating China from Taiwan and Hong Kong numbers of other DCEU films give a range of $90-110mn, so taking $100mn, it would have been close call, if released in China.
  5. 1. The Eternals 2. Soul 3. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker 4. Tenet 5. Black Widow 6. Onwards 7. Frozen 2 8. Jumanji 9. Raya and the last Dragon 10. Mulan
  6. She is bigger star than 99% film actress playing dany already. GoT was bigger than all movies this year except EG, so I don't really get your point.
  7. Including all. I don't see any information on Halloween previews for DS, so I assume they are include in that $1.5mn figure.
  8. Well didn't expect to wake up to 10 pages this early this weekend. Looking at numbers they are incredibly boring, true Friday M 5.6 LC 3.25 DS 3.25 Joka 2.5 Maleficent 2.1
  9. It would have become a new norm, besides I doubt before Titanic & Avatar, JP or SW were biggest films in all markets. So it is a Norm even now. Titanic was truly magical and once in lifetime thing.
  10. Bala seems like ₹11cr Nett opening. It was looking like a huge Saturday jump buy tommorow Ayodhya verdict may kill the Saturday and if tension rises even next few days.
  11. Don't @ me with this did 1.6 something billion worldwide, I know that. But I also know that how 2.2 Billion was easily in shot for it.
  12. Since weekend is dull anyways, going off topic. Watched The Lion King Honest Trailer, man English version was horrible and makes sense how film massively underperformed missing a rather easy $2 Billion. In contrast, the Hindi version, I watched film in was quite fun. That doesn't happen regularly. Disney missed Aladdin to marketing & The Lion King sucked overall. Two massive underperformers.
  13. 14. Good start for Bala, ₹10cr opening day most likely. Advance excellent for Saturday. May hit ₹50cr weekend, full run ₹150cr Approx
  15. Assuming that Bala earns AT-LEAST Rs 120 crore, 5 Ayushmann films have contributed Rs 532 cr at the box-office in a span of 13 months (Oct 2018 till Nov 2019). This is just a humongous number, considering that the combined production budget of all films is less than Rs 175 cr.
  16. I hope there is good explanation on where Eternals or other heroes that are introduced from now, were at time of Endgame or 5 years before that. Because imagine an event so big, its affect throughout universe, and Eternals were cooling off somewhere. So far its going well; I mean there were no Spider-man, Vision, Scarlet Witch, Ant-Man at time of The Avengers, GoTG were separate way, Wizards did their part in NY battle, Wakandans were hiding from world. I think I covered all.
