  1. I don't love or hate this choice but it's a very interesting one, nonetheless. Makes me wonder if they plan to fill out the cast with lesser known actors or if they'll really go for it and cast a few more big names. Whatever the case, I hope to see at least one or two actors I like land a role in this. I'm curious to see what CZ comes up with but I need a little more to get me hyped for this movie.
  2. I feel bad for him on a personal level but he is still defending his work and that includes taking shot at his critics. No surprise that they would hit back. The biggest problem for me is not how he depicted Batman or Supes but how neither he nor his apologists can accept valid criticism. I still recall Deborah Snyder being asked what they learned from the reaction to BvS and she said it was that fans don't like to see their heroes deconstructed. You see, BvS is great... the problem is simply that the naysayers couldn't understand or refused to see its greatness. Takes like that don't garner sympathy.
  3. I don't think the issue with MoS is so much about people taking issue with Superman killing as it is that the movie itself simply isn't that entertaining. After all, the general audience doesn't really care about canon or being faithful to comics...they want an enjoyable movie experience above all else. That is the difference between MoS and CM. Whether you personally like CM or not, the vast majority see it as a good time at the movies.
  4. Oh how I wish this were true since I love Cavill as Supes and think he deserves at least one more solo movie. Unfortunately, the only GOAT aspect of MoS is its score. Sad.
  5. Well Chadwick is playing an African from a fictional country. If Shang-Chi were from a fictional Asian country, then I think it would be a non-issue as well. It's also not really same as with Holland or Scarlett because there is a whole history behind viewing Asians as interchangeable, which is based on ignorance and stereotypes. I would really want Marvel not to play into that, especially since many Asians would find it disappointing or problematic. Beyond that, I just can't see Yeun in the role at all. He doesn't strike me as an action star.
  6. I would hope so but I don't want to get my hopes up that there is actually good news coming related to the Flash, lol. That last update didn't exactly leave me feeling optimistic.
  7. I'm waiting for someone credible to call this fake news because I'm not buying it, nor do I think Yeun would be good choice for the role. Like Mike Moh, Yeun is Korean and I definitely think the role should go to a Chinese actor or one of Chinese descent. Asians are not interchangeable.
  8. THR is saying 64M as well. Based on that preview number, I would have said at least 70M. Perhaps it'll go up. We'll see.
  9. He's already involved in 2 remakes and I wouldn't be surprised if he directs one soon. Even the best desire a break from conjuring up original ideas or just want to remake something they enjoyed.
  10. Ryan Coogler, who is equally as talented, didn't turn his nose up at the notion of doing a CBM and I'm glad he didn't or we wouldn't have gotten the phenomenon that was Black Panther. That said, I don't have a strong urge to see Peele do a CBM, so he can steer clear if he likes.
  11. I can buy that Marvel may be interested or is talking to some actors for certain roles but that info leaking well in advance? When has that ever happened? I don't think we heard any kind of rumors about Brie until 2016.
  12. Casting rumors about movies that aren't even close to being in production? Ok! The Eternals rumors are plausible, I guess. But certanly not ready to buy into them yet.
  13. Nolan with a black lead? I never thought I'd see the day. I'm genuinely surprised. Good for him and JDW. I'm certainly more intrigued by this than I would have been had Nolan cast one of his usuals. And I like most of Nolan's films but this is truly inspired casting.
  14. Given that WB has yet to show much interest at all in a Cyborg movie, I don't think they'll be quick to make a Flash movie centering a black Wally West. And remember there were rumors that they were planning to recast Iris, which isn't hard to believe given that they cut her scenes in JL, or at least allowed Whedon to do so. She wasn't my first choice so I don't mind a recast. I always preferred either Antonia Thomas or Kylie Bunbury, who is actually in Game Night as well. I imagine she'll have a good shot at the role, if they do recast and the current directors remain.
  15. Whether the DCEU still exists or not, the continuity hasn't been broken. We're still talking about the same movie under the same company. Of course there is no guarantee. I'm talking about what should happen.
  16. Right because a character being recast in a completely different universe is the same as a recast for the same movie within the same universe. What a reach. If WB doesn't want any more bad publicity, they'll do the smart thing and cast a woman of color.
  17. Most of the DCEU actors seem to be very loyal towards Snyder. Understandable since he cast them but at this point, they seem loyal to a fault. I recall Ray Fisher being asked who he'd want to direct a Cyborg movie and he said Snyder, lol. I feel for Ezra because he's in year 5 and still no solo movie. But I'm open to a recast. I'm fine with them recasting Iris as well, as long as they know she should remain a woman of color.
  18. Even as someone who loved both Guardians movies, I was just fine with Disney firing Gunn and can't now say that I'm thrilled he's back. But whatever. Just give us a good Guardians finale and I'll be satisfied.
  19. I watched mainly for Charlie, Garrett and Pedro but they are all pretty good, including Affleck, who normally does nothing for me. It's a decent movie, I enjoyed it more than I expected to.
  20. My thoughts exactly. Ezra doesn't have nearly enough pull or influence to delay a film because he doesn't like the script. I'm of the thought that WB simply isn't hot on this movie for whatever reason, is in no hurry to make it and is now indulging Ezra to see if he can come up with something to wow them. I doubt they have much faith in that though and are probably preparing to let him go. It's sad, really because this was the DC film I was most excited about (before BoP came along) and to know that there's a good chance it won't come to fruition any time soon is disappointing.
  21. Hilarious that you think I was referring to you when I was just making a general comment about trolls. Hilarious, indeed.
  22. Who cares what the trolls think? Really? There's no reasoning with them.
