  1. Mummies also appeared to be planned for a wide release by WB at one point, it now seems to be going quite limited (seemingly even less theaters than House Party and MM3). Evil Dead Rise will likely be a similar HP/MM3 situation, but I expect Shazam 2 to still have a full, very-wide release.
  2. Even lower than my source initially estimated. Should maybe lower theater count/box office expectations for Evil Dead Rise as well.
  3. Creed 3 on sale next Fri, 2/10. There will be early access shows on March 1.
  4. It should be considered opening day, but as far as I can tell, these are all going to be rolled into the Wed box office for the movie. 🥴
  5. Marlowe’s preview shows start as early as 10am on the day before the official release date. Think that sets a new preview start time record by multiple hours. It’s a true full day of previews now. @Porthos Just checking in on how you’re feeling for no reason at all.
  6. Based on its RT verified audience score, I'd say Fear would be the horror movie closer to an F CinemaScore this weekend, if it were to be polled. It's at 26% at the time of this posting, which is... pretty bad!
  7. This is now titled, get ready: "Big George Foreman: The Miraculous Story of the Once and Future Heavyweight Champion of the World" I guess Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn was taken? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  8. Can confirm Fast X tickets on sale Feb 9 at 8am EST. @Eric Slay I apologize in advance. Marlowe goes on sale next Wed, Feb 1.
  9. Typically, based on what they've done previously, if Disney were to date a 20th Century or Searchlight title, they would label it as "Untitled 20th Century" or "Untitled Searchlight" instead of "Untitled Disney", so I don't believe those titles will be something from one of those studios. That being said, Walt Disney Pictures doesn't have much of anything in production right now that A.) Doesn't have a date already and B.) Could make the dates listed. That is, unless they have some secret unannounced stuff in production? I have a theory that following the move of The Boogeyman from Hulu to theaters, and Iger giving creatives more control again over how their films are released, that perhaps some Disney+ movies that are/will be ready-to-go might be making a similar switch to theatrical releases. I don't want to get anyone's hopes up, though.
  10. Don't know for certain yet, lots of theaters don't have showtimes up. If I had to guess, probably similar to the Avatar re-release back in September? Weirdly, a decent amount of Marcus locations are favoring Magic Mike 3 for their theater-branded PLF screens that weekend.
  11. Magic Mike 3 tix 1/23, but in the afternoon? Source says 3pm EST for now, tentative. Titanic re-release tix 1/26. Unlike the Avatar re-release, there will be Thurs previews for this one, they start at 3:00. Hope everyone has another good weekend.
  12. I need to check around, but I don't think there's a date yet. The wait is un-bear-able, I know.
  13. A note about the Regal news: That report about closing theaters is coming from Business Insider, who one of my sources is claiming might have swindled that scoop out from another source on the Regal Unlimited sub-Reddit, and is misreporting these potential closures as certainties. Multiple locations that had leases rejected earlier in the same manner remain open. I even mentioned one either on this forum or on the group chat, Regal E-Walk, which was similarly listed as having its lease rejected before it was re-negotiated. Leases set to be rejected, and even ones that end up reaching rejection, can still be re-negotiated. The BI article even mentions: “The debtors are hopeful that these negotiations will lead to lease concessions and modifications that will obviate the need for rejection"
  14. I don't recall Paramount spending next-to-nothing on promoting Smile, and last I checked they opened it at 3.6k+ locations. If WB is upgrading these titles to theatrical, they have the choice to not bother with upgrading the marketing spend as well (a la House Party), but I think they'll find that they'll be making a mistake with Magic Mike 3, a movie that I and others believe has potential. Very rude and condescending.
  15. While it doesn't seem like it'll be as limited as House Party... it does seem like there was truth to this. Think even a certain banned BOT member has mentioned that WB is turning some theaters down from playing it. A pal of mine has the release projected for ~2k locations, but again that could fluctuate. Should have a ticket sale date very soon.
  16. Maybe scratch the whole “full week” thing for Chosen Finale, seems like there’s only Thu and Fri times for it. Wasted opportunity, hope they expand it out.
  17. A major chain has it at precisely that time for sales to start. There's always the possibility other chains do something else, but I think this is pretty locked-in, especially since they seem to be devoting halftime to Mandalorian stuff.
  18. Got another source to confirm. Tickets on sale Monday at 8pm EST.
  19. Thanks for the rundown! I'll then have to assume Sony made a switch-in-plan somewhere, it seems odd for all of those pre-existing circumstances to be in place only for a super-saturated wide release to occur regardless. Obviously theaters get added on week-of all the time, but the mystery movie thing and the theater listings for the 27th were what threw me off.
  20. Any word on if this is accurate? Maybe it's just me, but from a look around, this really doesn't look like a 3k+ theater opener at all. From what I recall, Sony required Regal to limit the mystery movie showing of this to specific markets because of how Sony didn't plan to open it this wide on opening weekend. There's even locations that don't seem to be getting it until the 27th, in fact. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong. Maybe there was a dramatic shift in the release strategy. Just seems off to me.
  21. By the way, these sneaks will have special "Throwback Pricing" of... $8. So I guess it's a throwback to 2013 or something.
