  1. That shouldn't be the case at all. Streaming is good for binging but it doesn't bring the joy which theatres bring. Just like how watching sports live has a different feeling than watching it at home on tv.
  2. Movie theater shouldn't be all about PLF and IMAX either reduce the prices or other formats should be available. Because it's becoming increasingly expensive to go to cinema which used to be leisure activity.
  3. Hmm. Question is will Spidey make appearances in any other movie before that.
  4. The sad thing is Disney, WB and other studios want to have the cake (release in theatres) and eat it too (also release early on streaming for more subscribers). They have to get their priorities straight. Actually they should treat each movie on basis by basis case where suppose a particular movie is performing well then you can postpone it's streaming release aka TGM. Otherwise if a movie isn't performing well then you can release it early.
  5. Yes as I had mentioned previously in my posts china should have adopted different strategies rather than zero covid strategy ,which limited and isolated the spread of virus. That resulted in no herd immunity and lot of people weren't infected therefore no natural immunity being created .
  6. Possibly because there's no herd immunity so most of the people weren't infected initially and spread of the virus is faster
  7. Yes. Cinema is meant to be a celebration of a movie. Where people of all kinds come together and socialize. How hard you may try , streaming and even home theatre for that matter can't replace it.
  8. Yes, this is what I was talking about. This week covid cases are going to peak
  9. You can be rest assured that said rumour is not true. Japan isn't like china. https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/avatar-struggles-show-how-japan-is-ditching-hollywood/2022/12/22/09197536-8234-11ed-8738-ed7217de2775_story.html But unlike the woes studios face in China, this is no ideological departure. Japan is a free market, with no equivalent of the quota Beijing places on US movies, nor censors stepping in to prevent their release on moral grounds. Neither is it a pandemic phenomenon. Japan is one of the few countries that largely kept cinemas open during the global outbreak
  10. Yes. I think ocean waves is an anomaly of Ghibli movies since it doesn't even feel anything like Ghibli .
  11. I mean if nostalgia hits it's possible for $250+ Domestic. Maybe similar numbers to 50 shades of grey
  12. @GipJo how's the situation? I read article that this week covid cases are likely to peak.
  13. Don't take this seriously it's not that deep. If that was the case Avatar 1 wouldn't have made that much. As for why western culture won't stop destroying nature well it's simple: Capitalism
