  1. MK seems to be catching up. I guess the fanbase is finally running out of gas for DS.
  2. Or, you know, maybe people just like the show more than you. People disagreeing with your criticisms isn't "giving the show a pass". For example, refusal of the call is a perfectly valid storytelling technique. You disliking it doesn't mean everyone has to. How do we know he had no reason to refuse the call? We didn't know much about Sam's character before this show so we couldn't have known what his feelings were towards that shield. Karli and the Flagsmashers should be "easy" for our heroes to put down because you don't like them as villains, apparently. Yet since they are super soldiers, obviously they would not be that easy for them to fight. So this criticism doesn't even make sense. And other criticisms like Sam being a "bad lead" or the pacing being "off" or "not working" are just totally subjective, so it should not be surprising that people would disagree with those. You could either understand that your point of view isn't universal or resort to the cheap online jab of "people are giving it a 'pass' because of cosmetic diversity", which is basically a rhetorical tactic of trying to make yourself sound smarter than everyone else.
  3. I would be cautious though, I don't expect the late bumps to be nearly as strong as GvK since that had more GA appeal. This will be a very fan-heavy film.
  4. I was thinking 20+ for MK from the trend in Denver and Philly, but that may be harder with DS seeming to really break out.
  5. I was just okay with Sam and Bucky before but I think they have worked great as leads in this show. Mackie and Stan do a good job with the spotlight. I also think the character arcs have been much better integrated than those in WandaVision, especially comparing Sam becoming Captain America to Wanda becoming Scarlet Witch. One of these was set up from the start and explored well while the other was kinda randomly tacked on at the end and barely explained.
  6. In that case I will try to do MTC2 for MK. But it will take a couple of days to reengineer my script.
  7. This does seem like a film that will overindex in urban areas though, like how US films OS do the same.
  8. Daily pace is really strong. Doing a straight up comparison for both of these on ((MK daily pace T-9)/(GvK daily pace T-9)) * (GvK tickets sold T-9 to T-0) * (GvK OD) gives 10.2 million Friday from Philly and 8.4 million Friday from Denver. Of course GvK T-9 is estimated for @Inceptionzq since that was 4 days of data but... Granted I don't expect MK to have as strong late bumps as GvK since it doesn't have as much buzz. So I think more like 6.5-7 million OD is likely.
  9. It could have done a bit more perhaps but "Hi, Mom" is not a good comparison as that was a local film. For a Hollywood movie its gross was fairly high, though not as big as other markets might have suggested.
  10. 44% Sunday drop estimated? I guess this post-Easter Sunday does tend to have harsher drops.
  11. PWPs may make the difference. They sell far better on weekends.
  12. Have to say I had the complete opposite reaction even to the first two episodes. I feel that while this show isn't very stylistically unique, it is telling a bolder and more interesting story than WandaVision. But different strokes, I guess.
  13. There is a "description leak" on Twitter. Not sure how reliable it is, but it's the fairly obvious description that the Rebels finale + Mando set up anyway. One odd thing is that this leak seems to have created a bit of a dust-up among Rebels fans on Twitter, as some seem to think that Sabine should be the main character instead of Ahsoka. I'm not sure I agree with that, but I do hope that Sabine has a large role as she deserves to, since she was closer to Ezra and so has more of a personal stake in the mission.
  14. Private Viewing/Watch Parties. Basically people rent out a showing for a price of $150-300 to watch with a fairly large group of friends.
  15. I miss the 22-episode TCW/Rebels seasons so this sounds great for me. (yeah I know s1 and s4 of Rebels and s6/s7 of TCW are shorter, but even those were double digits)
  16. I would say that one thing I have been missing from both this and WandaVision is the usual MCU humor. Episode 3 was better as Zemo delivered some quite funny lines. But other than him, while I am enjoying the story, the humor in WandaVision and this show has fallen more flat. Maybe it's because I'm watching this at home, but I doubt it, since I can still rewatch Endgame or GOTG or Ragnarok or Captain Marvel or Ant-Man and laugh quite a bit. Perhaps its the direction, idk. But I wouldn't mind seeing some better-delivered humor.
  17. 70 mil is quite great for a third trailer. It didn't do great numbers on the main channel but maybe reuploads split things more than usual?
