Oh please YES, I would be forever subscribed to Disney+ for something like that!

I have been missing this kind of “nonsense” within MCU since Agents of SHIELD ended.

And yes, I’ve just compared them, if you’ve seen the last couple of seasons of Agents you know what I’m talking about. The quality is obviously not comparable, but dealing with space and time traveling craziness is really something the MCU could continue exploring in their shows.

    Not so obvious to me.

Agents of Shield S2-S5 easily clears anything that Disney+ MCU has done for me.

  2. I would say the season kinda puttered in the last two episodes as well, but this wasn't a bad ending either. Just felt a little pat and predictable and the action while fun wasn't quite strong or memorable enough to counter that. The emotional arcs this season were fine but lacked tension/difficult choices other than episode 4 and the slow-walking of Baylan's story is really frustrating. Would put this fourth among the live action series, clear step above Fett, Kenobi, and Mando S3 but just wasn't executed well enough to match Andor or the first two Mando seasons.

One reason I brought up Scream VI was because it was a fairly heavily frontloaded horror movie.

Now a Scream VI comp is kinda bad as that had a fan event and 3D and an R-rating.  Still, on raw ticket sales I'm going to be keeping an eye on it to see how they compare on pace.

Still not comparable at all to Swift, I think it's absurd to suggest that FNAF will be that level of presale-heavy. It no doubt will have a fan rush but the sales just aren't at the volume that could produce frontloading on the level of what we're seeing with Eras Tour.

You mean percent of final, or something like that?  I have a few candidates I'm already tracking but not posting but I might add a couple more.  Don't know if I'll make a separate block for only percent of final but I'll chew it over.

If it's something else you're looking for (like how many more tickets film X has left to be sold at the various days) that might require more work.

    Yeah percent of final

Nothing even vaguely suitable.  Even a JWD comp, which has a similar level of sales now, spits out an unadjusted comp of 76.5m.  Those massive upfront sales for TET just puts a tremendous thumb on the scales.  Even Ava 2, which only started on T-24 and thus is still in its early surge of sales, spits out an, again unadjusted comp of 70.2m.

Could bring in GOTG3, I suppose, as that had a higher level of daily sales than TET's current pace but still lower than other MCU fare. That's spitting out 44.6/64.7 un/adj.   It'll still come down, but perhaps not as fast as the others.

Anything else I can't remotely see being worthwhile.

I was more so curious about how much those sold until final than the current comp value. It's hard to read the pace currently against these comps that are selling much more each day.

FINAL SOLD NOTES: "Final sold" is the number of tickets sold for the movie in question at stop of tracking while "% of final" is the percentage of The Era Tour's current tickets sold versus that final number.

AD-HOC COMP NOTE: "Ad-hoc Comp" is the normal comp multiplied by 1.45x (a 45% increase), which is what I am using for now to account for the difference in ATP between TET and all other films.

    Regal:     2240/6150  [36.42% sold]

If you have time I would be curious if you had any comps with a more similar daily new sales to Eras Tour. Just for another idea of where it's likely to end.

The one thing about the training scene that felt off was that part of it felt like a retread of Kanan teaching Sabine to use the Darksaber

I dislike how the show seems to be really avoiding mentions of Kanan, which I guess is to avoid throwing another unfamiliar name at those who didn't watch Rebels...but as someone who did it just bugs me when he really should be mentioned in a couple scenes in this episode.

You know darn well there's a difference between a Pixar or Dreamworks movie and a Paw Patrol movie. The former are designed to appeal to all ages. Paw Patrol is for 5 year olds and only 5 year olds. I'm sorry if I sound judgy, but I have concerns if you're in your 20s or 30s and you're watching something that airs daily on Nick Jr. on the big screen, unless your little one is dragging you to it.

Meh, I don't see having unusual tastes as being concerning.

I would also add that when I did my first initial watch of TCW years after the fact, I watched it in broadcast order and it was totally fine.  Years later I did do a chronological order watch and while I suppose it did add a certain spice, it wasn't that much of an extra treat.

In fact, I actually watched the first broadcast episode before seeing the movie as a way to see if the series as a whole might vibe with me, and I'm glad I did at the episode in question, Ambushinstantly sold me on the series.  Just so many little things done right that I knew I had to plow right on it.

(also enjoyed the movie, FWIW — but then I'm somewhat easily pleased when it comes to SW)

Did make sure not to overdose my bingeing as there is a looooooot of content to catch up on, and that's something I would absolutely recommend.

(should also add that choosing to watch these off of DVDs at the time also factored into my broadcast order rewatch as it is admittedly much easier to do a chronological rewatch on D+ than it was for DVDs)

I prefer chronological just to keep the arcs together. It also adds more resonance to certain episodes, Rookies is great on its own but hits really hard if you've already seen Clone Cadets

Okay Star Wars people, it’s time for the old wiser me make peace with the young adult that despised the prequels. Today I love them, but I never watched Clone Wars and Rebels.

In prep to Ahsoka, I want to marathon Clone Wars, going with the chronological order. What I’m still in doubt and the D+ official chronological order list doesn’t seem to answer is, should I start with the animated movie first and then go though the list? Or isn’t that correct?

    @Darth Lehnsherr @Porthos @Inceptionzq

If going chronological, watch "Cat and Mouse" and "The Hidden Enemy" before the movie.

IIRC even @Menor the Destroyer mentioned trailer metrics weren't great so that part seems true to me. Still think it will see a big drop off cap marvel but ultimately do fine at 600-700M.

Yeah they aren't great, not totally disastrous but it will need to be a pretty good movie to succeed. Twitter views are extremely high for some reason but I suspect there is some kind of ad/auto play thing going on there.

No because it would require a discussion in the spoilers chat and one I doubt you'd even properly engage with in good fun. All I'll say is that the movie clearly (and not in a subtle way) for the joke plays up the absurdity of every character (female or male) to showcase how we as humans regardless of gender can be defined by a single trait (literally the entire point of Ken)

Of course that little jibe had to be thrown in, lol.

Yes, the movie plays up the absurdity of every character. But for the women that manifests in a wide variety of personalities and attitudes, while for the men it almost universally manifests in cartoonish incompetence and arrogance.

Film is an art form where hundreds of thousands of creators collectively join together and offer their personality, perspectives, politics and intelligence. Every single film requires this. If noticing this makes anyone a "snob" or "pretentious" or whatever buzzword is thrown around, that's a sad and undermining view to have

I agree, but all of this has nothing to do with saying that "non-intellectuals are an inferior breed of moviegoer," whatever that's supposed to mean.

  13. 10 minutes ago, BestPicturePlutoNash said:

    yes they are lol

There's nothing snobby about treating movies as art and trying to learn/educate yourself lol

Saying that "non intellectuals" are inferior is like the textbook example of snobbery.

That said it is equally stupid to decide whether to watch a movie based on whether "snobs" like it.
