So who is ready for the most awkward theater experience when sonic fans start cheering when a young girl dies on screen? Because if they don't the sonic fandom will be pissed off.
Make that "glorious". Endgame crowds will look like an addiction rehab group compared to us Sonic fans.

Madame Web is going to drop like a rock. It's the worst movie I've ever seen. It's basically what the likes of Morbius or Cats would be without the meme value. And I feel like I'm not alone in thinking that.

I have no words. This was the worst movie I've ever seen. Shoddy direction, unbelievably stupid and inept writing, wooden acting, and ugly cinematography form a movie that somehow makes Morbius look like a masterpiece. I'm amazed a movie this shitty was deemed good enough for theaters.

The Marvel's would have been chip and shattered by this film.
This was originally set to be out a week before that, right? Makes one wonder how much worse The Marvels would've performed. It already had trouble barely crossing the $200M mark worldwide even with being the sole action tentpole of its month.

The versatility of Godzilla as a character and brand is the core reason why we've all loved him for over 70 years, and why he will never truly die. He can effortlessly transform into whatever any given era's people want him to be during their lifetimes. He started off as a haunting allegory for nuclear warfare and its effects on the Japanese, and now he has become a big budget action hero protecting our world from total annihilation. And he doesn't always have to be locked into one role, as he can be either depending on what story any given filmmaker wants to tell. And as long as his flexibility is preserved, Godzilla will always be an immortal icon. In an era where many franchises are fading away into dust, he stands tall, and will likely outlast them all. Long live the king.

JJ Abrams waiting desperately for the phone call to direct this.
Funnily enough Jeff Sneider also presented him as an option.
Speaking of Sneider, he claimed on his most recent podcast that apparently David Leitch was actually let go by Amblin rather than just leaving like the trades implied. And the reason for that is that his producing partner Kelly McCormick wasn't happy with the budget presented and tried to meddle with it. And the producers weren't happy with that.
He also dropped a bonus tidbit regarding why Legendary didn't return to finance Dominion. Apparently shortly after the first Jurassic World they tried to pitch a spinoff movie to the Amblin suits. They didn't like that, and subsequently let them go from the franchise (and possibly even burned their bridge with Universal).
Make of these what you will.

Well, colour me surprised. This looks a lot better than I'd expected going off of the leaks claiming this'd have the bland What If look. This trailer definitely won me over, so I'll watch this, especially since I could use a good primer into the X-Men pathos before they eventually make it back to film.
I wonder why we've been getting such a big Marvel news blowout this week. The Deadpool 3 trailer, the Fantastic Four cast and this were all unleashed within less than a week of each other. I worry it's because some awful news is about to leak out in the next day or two and this is them trying to get ahead of that by dropping these big announcements. The memory of the Hugh Jackman reveal dropping on the same day Blade lost its first director is too fresh in my mind. I really hope that's not the case, and that this is them just trying to win their fans back after the rough couple of years they've gad.

Save us Dune Part 2!
Denis "Lisan al-Gaib" Muad'Dib will save us all. Exhibitors just need to grit their teeth for a couple more weeks!

Sheesh. Lot of undue pessimism about this casting.
After how lukewarm Marvel's output has been these past couple of years, everyone has every right to be skeptical. And Pedro Pascal, while beloved, is a pretty unconventional choice for a character like Reed Richards.

Space Godzilla?
SpoilerNo, it's Mothra instead, who was rumoured to have been added to the film last year after test screening feedback.

I will say, them announcing this cast now and not at Comic-Con is a likely indication they'll be sitting this year out too. Because let's face it, this is the only trump card they had for that, and they chose to play it now. If they still go this year, then all they'll have to show are Disney+ fodder.

Why is everyone so anti-Thunderbolts? Yes, it's a little bit on banking on the D+ shows, but it's also a Black Widow follow up. I want more Florence and David!!
That actually is a detriment to this movie, as Black Widow was not exactly a crowdpleaser. There's obviously the matter of Thunderbolts not being a known property and Marvel no longer having the goodwill to prop such properties up. They're actually taking a big risk here by still going full steam ahead with this movie, even going as far as moving the release up. There's something to be said for that.

Putting this near Supes and JW doesn't seem like a wise idea.
Jurassic isn't making that date, and we all know it. Also, while Fantastic Four isn't an S-tier property, it definitely stands a hell of a lot more of a chance against Superman's third weekend than Thunderbolts ever could.

Maybe I'm a bad person but I was hoping they would delete this movie
I feel like they're too far along now to pull the plug, and/or are proud of what they have now after the creative overhaul last year. We'll just have to wait and see at this point.

Pedro sounds odd as Reed on paper, but he has the talent to make it work. I have no issues with the rest. Changing places with Thunderbolts is also a good idea, as that one would've been destroyed by Superman.

Baby Peter is born in 2003 in this movie. Take from that what you want.
How big of a role do the Parkers have here? The original rumours were claiming they were key factors to the storyline, but that doesn't seem to be the case anymore from what I've read.

Two things. One, at least domestically they are marketing the hell out of this film. Just heard my second freakin radio spot for it this morning driving into work (on Q101 here in Chicago if anyone cares). Basically if you don’t know there’s a Bob Marley movie coming out today, you’re in a coma or dead.Second, there’s just nothing else out. Your V-day date night choices are One Love or Madame Web, and the latter is at 16% on RT.
One Love isn't exactly getting raves either. I feel like in that situation couples would be more likely to do something else, or just do a movie night at home with something good. There's no shortage of entertainment today.

WTF does this mean
He hasn't changed one bit from the last Transformers press circuit. He was responsible for a lot of incomprehensible statements back then, muddying the waters regarding its continuity. Rise of the Beasts would have been so much better without his meddling. Hopefully he gets blocked in some way if we get another live action movie.

This is S.J. Clarkson's first movie but she's a a real TV veteran (and she's directed shows like the British Life on Mars which looked fantastic) so how is this movie so bad on a technical level?
You said it yourself. She is a television veteran, but this is the first feature film she ever directed. The sad part is, she tried to get in before by joining Star Trek 4 back in 2018, but that got shelved after pay disputes with the stars. I'll always wonder if this movie would've been better had Clarkson actually gotten to make Star Trek 4, and therefore score some serious experience in film.

To put into perspective how much the landscape has changed in the past 4-5 years: this weekend, not only did a romantic comedy, a genre flatlining for the past decade now, beat a big budget Marvel blockbuster domestically, but another Marvel-based movie got absolutely bodied by a biopic with mixed critical reception. It's honestly insane to see a genre that used to instantly print money as recently as last decade radically transform into a high-risk punchline. The characters who ascended to the top during the golden age will likely still print money, as seen by Spider-Man and that Deadpool trailer's metric. Those who couldn't will gradually fade away from the spotlight and become "that weirdo my grandpa was obsessed with when he was a kid". It'll be interesting for sure to see if any other genre becomes the new top dog in the years to come, or if wealth will be a lot more evenly distributed across the board in a new market without the record breaking highs but with far higher lows.
