  1. TMNT' Wednesday number is a reminder of just how bad MI7 did on OD Wed. TMNT did 3.9m on Tuesday preview but jump to $6.3m Wed. On the other hand,, MI7 had a $7m preview but only $8.5m Wed.
  2. Can they do a double feature between TMNT with MI7 to save MI7?
  3. I don't understand how this is a valid claim when Elemental, a movie center around a water girl, become such a leggy run. Zootopia, Frozen 1&2, all have strong feminist theme and they all succeed greatly in SK.
  4. No tuesday bump? Are they affected by TMNT? Movie Title Distributor Gross %YD %LW Theaters Per Theater Total Gross Days In Release - (8) Insidious: The Red Door Sony Pictures $430,000 -7% -62% 1,914 $225 $79,012,040 26 - (9) Spider-Man: Across the Sp… Sony Pictures $230,000 -5% -64% 833 $276 $379,255,974 61
  5. Barbie verified audience score down to 84% and Oppy is also drop 91%.
  6. All I can say is women have been too long underserved by the summer blockbusters, that is why they flock so hard in this one.
  7. Was not had a limited release in US during Barbieheimer week? How come Lionsgate is not reporting any numbers ?
  8. Let it be, give some love to a far better movie called Elemental.
  9. $150m is making perfect sense when you realised the marketing campaign is so much more than just social media trend. Robbie and Gosling went on world tour to so so many cities around the world. And the barbie doll box at the cinema around the world, countless tv spot.
  10. US numbers tend to exert influence to overseas gross. Overseas numbers would do even better if US perform better.
  11. Given that there are still China and SK to come, and the IMAX % has been stable at 25%. A $800m final total would mean $200m IMAX gross!
  12. Yes, the 2nd weekend drop is indeed 10.5% but the Sun-Sun drop is actually 40%. That isn't exactly a good sign for the run going forward especially for 3rd week. The good hold in the 2nd week is more like the correction to the too little showtimes problem in OW.
  13. Top 5 IMAX worldwide gross. 1. Avatar (2009): $270m (including re-release) ; $243m without re-release 2. Avatar TWOW (2022): $256m 3. TFA (2015): $208m 4. AEG(2019): $180m 5. AIW (2018): $143m In total there are 13 movies passing $100m in IMAX format, In addition to the top 5, the rest are NWH, TGM ($110m), TLJ, JW, Gravity, Interstellar, TDKR and RO ($105m)
  14. But given that they are the direct victim of atomic bomb, I think meme an actual tragic event in an victim country is a very insensitive gesture. So I don't blame their reaction.
