J. lo makes a lot of movies, i don't think that movie about strippers was big only because of her or it was an event, she's an actress as much she's a singer. If we talk about musicals I agree making A star is born with Gaga or Beyoncè makes things very different but I don't think house of gucci is this big only because of Lady Gaga but there a lot of factors making this appealing for a certain audience. -

There are so many good movies every year in terms of social themes. I don't understand if you (The Academy) don't care about some kind of movies e in particular about marvel movies why you should care they made something in terms of "themes". Maybe it was new for that kind of movies but certainly nothing new in the "art movies history" they should celebrated. -

I'm not a Marvel hater, I watch every movie and I find them enjoyable and of course no one of them have ever deserved to be nominated at the Oscars. There is always something so much better even in the technical categories. So the same thing for Black Panther, it didn't have nothing better or worst than the average marvel movies in techinical terms so i don't know why it got so many nominations. If the prize is for the impact End game should have been nominated too. -

Marvel movies are not film for nerdy men. We can like it or not but they are the forrest gump of this age. If you love popular movies, in any target, you go to see them. -

98% of americans doesn't know who the f. Ansel elgort is, you can imagine how much americans know or care about whatever drama involved him on twitter. The reason this movie has no audience is if you watch the trailer is just west side story. You don't see anything new you haven't seen in the original or in in the theater versions. You have already seen it over and over. Not a new exciting factor. What is the IT factor for this movie for you to invest 150M dollars?. Spielberg making west side story? Come on, E.T happened 40 years ago. That man has a lot of flops even in his golden age. -

They should have released it on Christmas day like that movie. If fox was indipendent from Disney I'm sure this movie would have released around the 20- 25th december like Fox did with The greatest showman again star wars. But you know ... Spider Man come first. You all are talking about the legs on this on holidays comparing with war horse or the greatest showman but they were realeased on christmas day or near to Christmas. With a start like this it's more difficult to have holiday increases after two entire flat weeks. -

A West side story remake just doesn't have an audience. In France where in the post pandemic drama movies are doing great numbers too , on pair with some blockbusters, it's gonna do just 1M euros in 5 days. It's gonna flop everywhere. -

That's got modern and radio friendly appealing music to discover. This is going nowhere with the already well know music from 1000 years ago. -
France should be the perfect market to see how this movie can work OS (remake of classic + spielberg). 1M in 5 days it's really not encouraging for other key markets like Spain, Germany, Italy.

Men always decide what is better in every corner of art, nothing new. There are so many unoriginal gangster movies with such an undeserved consideration by critics and academics over so much better romantic movies only because men feel them more. That's the point, the difference is more in the feelings than in the surface of their opinions.

Movie was ok. I mean it's just a marvel movie. The only reason those male critics born in the 70s and 80s hate it is because it's not the indiana jones meeting back to the future formula every marvel movie has. Or at least it's a little bit different. There is no real cinematic reason to say this is worst than the last 2 spider man or captain marvel or whatever, it's just harmeless cinema like every marvel movie. If you can love more than a type of harmless blockbusters you can love this too. It's not a disaster. I don't know how someone can call this boring while the first half than Avengers (2012) entertaining. That's still my most boring hour ever in a cinema.

Villenueve is gonna make a Paul Autrides trilogy. Also i don't think warner plans are to follow the books. They're gonna explore the universe in a different way. The last books of the series are not that appreciated or famous. From what villenueve said in some interview even for the second book he has some different ideas from the original source.
