  1. And... do we still count Columbia? They make only few movies per year, their blockbusters cost just 100-120M max, don't have their own streaming service and very few IPs, if Sony sells then they lose Spider-Man rights and probably Playstation rights, I would guess. Their only worth is basically buildings plus what? Ghostbusters and some Adam Sandler comedies from 20 years ago?
  2. Well, it had 3 or 4 rounds of reshoots and no way they were making a 115 minutes long movie in first place.
  3. Just that Wired video where Nolan answers "Why Christopher Nolan doesn't use CGI?" and he's like "it's too distracting" or something. That was absolutely hilarious.
  4. Skydance's trying to buy them now. Guess they'll transform into content-producer for Netflix, Apple and Amazon if this deal happens.
  5. I've looked at two different cinemas in my country and A2 has quite a lot of screenings here. Wonka has just 1/3 of Aqua's times. Maybe both movies will flop anyway here or maybe they think families could still by interested in Aqua 2.
  6. Furiosa trailer was dissapointing but this looks genuinely terrible, like one of those chinese blockbusters. Don't think next few months will be good for WBD.
  7. I think too many people were desperate for it to be great because Paddington and Chalamet but trailers were generic. Just another big-budget family movie with weird CGI. And I think Aquaman could beat Wonka overseas.
  8. 2-3 weeks back Sneider mentioned reactions from press screenings were mixed so yeah I also expect another RT 60s movie.
  9. Wicked or Beetlejuice, honestly they seem more niche than mainstream. At least OS. Gladiator, most fans are in late 40s or older so no guarantees they'll go to cinema. I think Deadpool and Joker will win DOM + OS. IO or DM should do well but those are sequels nobody really needed... Maybe IO 700-800, DM 800-900.
  10. I think a lot of stuff like Invincible or Loki is only popular in online space. For example, Samba never released any concrete numbers for Loki S2 and that only happened with Andor before. Based on data available Loki S2 probably premiered with 1.3-1.5M households (S1 - 2.5M). Invincible, I swear I've heard more about it during that 2-year pause between seasons than now when S2 is finally out.
  11. Sounds like Zaslav's preparing to buy Paramount after 2024 presidential election. CNBC+Puck I think one way or another Paramount will kinda 'dissapear' in next two years. WBD, Universal or Netflix will buy them.
  12. People only started rating Brother Bear in last few years. At the time of its premiere it had awful reviews but now it's a totally different story for some reason. And I think it's the same with Sinbad and few other animated movies from late 90s / early 00s. Mainly those that also adults can enjoy.
  13. When I looked at your tracking thread early this week I thought previews 5.2-5.4 and 37-38 weekend, 40-42 best case scenario. I think that's where it's gonna end up so not bad not great.
  14. Well, Deadpool will have Foxverse characters and 00s nostalgia is one of few things that still sells. I think one of the problems is that MCU fans are mostly general audience. They hardly ever read any comic book, they just like MCU because it's popular. I look at places like SHH forum and basically only NWH (mainly because of OGs returning) and Reeves' Batman had any activity there. The rest... Days of those proper fanboys are long gone. That always makes it easier to lose a big % of audience very quickly.
  15. Guess this will have previews between 5.8-6.4 and then open around 45M. Just terrible.
  16. Looks ok, I guess. Reeves' Apes 3 finished 380M WW-China so wouldn't suprise if this one struggled with 300. Maybe 280-320M or so.
  17. Looks like another Ryan Reynolds-type action comedy. Something like 160-180M WW would be my prediction.
  18. But that number was dated to September 30, 2022. Since that they had two or three rounds of reshoots + post-production. I think that real budget will be $240-250m absolute minimum.
  19. So for 24 hours amc will act like maybe, MAYBE Swift broke Joker's record lol.
  20. But that's only because of China. Obviously Christmas will help again and I expect this one to have shorter runtime (100-110 minutes) but hard to imagine anything less than 25%+ drop WW-China.
