  1. After seeing The Prodigy’s preview number, I don’t think the studio involved can get this to be the opening weekend hit that it could’ve been.
  2. That’s underwhelming for What Men Want too, IMO. The Prodigy won’t do $10m. Tracking was $7m anyway but not a great start.
  3. That preview number isn’t good, since it’s less than the spin off, Lego Batman. I think it’ll do $50m+ although that’s an almost $20m drop from the first films opening weekend 5 years ago.
  4. For a certain generation, Mean Girls is totally iconic.
  5. Yeh I remember it from back in the day, it went bankrupt I think. Who’s in charge of MGM now, distribution wise? Or are they just releasing themselves through this revived banner? Thats why I don’t think they’ll be able to get this to feel like an event, because it’s not one of the current majors.
  6. I think Escape Room was hurt by Netflix adding another film with the same title and set up at the same time. A shame for Can You Ever Forgive Me but great for Green Book. The cineworld unlimited screenings were packed in December for that, but they were secret. I can’t believe that many people went to see The Favourite.
  7. $15m would be really underwhelming for What Men Want. It feels Taraji has 10 films coming out this year. Wtf at The Prodigy trailer views
  8. The trailer is very short btw and you don’t see the doll in full of speaking, only a glimpse of his costume at the start crawling and a silhouette at the end. I worry about it’s release with this new studio, Orion?
  9. That’s the best poster of the year and it’s only the 6th of February.
  10. Booked tickets for Valentine’s Day, really excited for this.
  11. The trailer has leaked, poor quality on twitter so I wonder if they’ll release this today. The boy shouts “Chucky” in the trailer btw, hmm.
  12. And it’ll pass $100m worldwide next weekend!
  13. Haha no problem. Showgirls is actually much better lol, I meant more in a these actors don’t know what they’re saying is funny because it’s so bad. Unintentionally bad and funny is what I meant.
  14. Velvet Buzzsaw on Netflix is literally SHOWGIRLS level bad if anyone wants to watch it. Shocking dialogue. Shocking acting. I was howling with laughter at it. It’s a complete shambles.
  15. Uh oh. I’m curious. But horror twitter is going to melt.
  16. After both The Meg and Rampage and the fact I haven’t seen a Fast and Furious film since the second one I’m not really interested. Will watch the trailer after work though.
  17. It is technically still a slasher film. Great.
  18. I’m so glad! Hasn’t even opened in the UK yet, I caught a preview, really enjoyed it. Plus, budget is $9m. Mary Poppins is just underwhelming every single week.
  19. Upside, Escape Room and Dogs Way Home have done well. However we’ve also had Replicas, King and Serenity. No one has been mentioning it, but Replicas is a disaster for the history charts, it’s third weekend number hasn’t even been reported, it lost 96% of its locations and had one of the top 10 worst second weekend drops of all time. Wow.
