  1. Yea, if this actually hits ~$55m FSS that's pretty darn good. Still likely to get to $200m.
  2. Not saying I'd be shocked by a sub $30m opening, but trailer views are pretty decent, not far from Shazam. I know that doesn't mean much bo wise, but who knows.
  3. I'm not ready to rule out a $200M+ dom cume for MI7. Also, holy fuck Elemental. It could end up with a really nice number domestically and it's gonna sit around $300M ww this weekend.
  4. Kudos to The Flash for outlegging Shazam 2; 1.92 vs 1.91
  5. Watch this outgross all other MI films domestically and people still call it a disappointment for not meeting the mini-Maverick goalposts.
  6. Barbie has had a messy history but I feel like it's been in a journey of "reclamation" and the film seems to be adding to it.
  7. Even its pre-sales lost steam after reviews... a well received Quantumania could have cleared $120m FSS, $140m by opening Monday and legged it to $300m+ dom and like $600-700m+ worldwide.
  8. They are cocky for greenlighting an 8th film before the 7th comes out in a franchise that's been consistent at the box office for like 20 years now?
  9. Between this and Barbie, seems like an exciting year for filmmakers getting big budgets and commiting to giving their take on IPs and characters.
  10. I think even with Quantumania-level reviews this does still open just sub $100m and pull $200m dom and ~$500m worldwide. But I expect it to get pretty good reviews and WoM. I see it closer to $300m+ dom and $700m+ worldwide.
  11. And let's not forget the mommies who made Aquaman a huge hit over the holidays in 2018.
  12. People really out there saying Gen Z don't know who Nolan is.
  13. I know the bar is in hell but I do hope this does outgross Shazam & Flash, even if it opens below the later. Well, this one should avoid a sub x2 multi.
  14. I'm sure the confusing/misleading marketing hurt it, but imo it was just one of the blandest and most disappointing films Pixar has ever made. And it's not like it didn't have some interesting ideas, it just didn't know what to do with them. Also, I think animated sci-fi that tries too hard to be just like live-action sci-fi is just not clicking. It's why I think Elio might actually do well, that one seems like it can only be told in that medium.
  15. The run that never were that I'm the most interested in is Wonder Woman 1984. That had a lot of goodwill and hype to have potentially scored a record opening weekend for DC; the question is, just how toxic that WoM would have been had it released theatrically.
