Dude, QT dialog-writing quality is exceptional. PJ&co`s isn`t at all. Yes, QT talkfest cna drag too but at least dialog is fun and creates characters. OTOH, PJ&co talkfests don`t do shit for characters, KK`s ship ride being a prime example of wasted screen time without learning anything about characters.

That happens if people consider previous movies better. I think that original SM was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than TASM. TASM wasn`t bad, just forgettable. OTOH, SM was charming and romantic. It`s still my fave SM. I know that SM2 is considered the best but aside better villain nothing else was better. SM3 was hot mess. I can`t watch it in reruns.

I hate SHITTOTR and Beach Whale Boyens and PJ for bringing Beach Whale aboard and becoming Count Bloatula (I blame her for this because she is more bloated than all his bloated movies combined and he did not make bloatfests before meeting her) and most of all I hate casting of Shitto and won`t ever forgive it and I want TH to fail for all those reasons but I`m objective about numbers. JC and Battleship would kill to "flop" like this. And I also insist they should wait for Saturday numbers before they call 911 because FOTR and damn SHITTOTR were big Saturday players.

It`s high because it`s still OW but it`s also already down from premiere. FOTR and Shriekapoo`s final rating after years is 8.8 I think. So TH is already under those 2 old movies. Unless some massive change happens and rating suddnely goes up but that didn`t happen with critics score either so trend isn`t on its side.

Lincoln and SLP and Skyfall are longer in release. Initial rating is always the highest. TH started with 9.4 or 9.2 on imdb.com after Wellingotn rpemiere. It`s at 8.7 now.

WB was slowly releasing negative reviws on RT until the day before release when they just couldn`t hold them off so rating dropped. I wouldn`t be surrpised if they are after headlines too because, as you say, nobody will notice or care about actual adjustement if there`s any. Which just shows desperation and that things aren`t going the way they expected.

Hobbit bombing in thsi category would be deserved because HFR exposed bad make-up. Lincoln should win it for DDl make-up.
