  1. Sascha Cohen has a 3 picture deal with paramount. He stated that he hasn't lost any money on a film he has been in yet. There's a howard stern interview on youtube with him out of character. The Rated-R really killed it. I bet there were tons of 13-16 year olds dying to see it in theatres, but had no 'gaurdian' to go with.Do you think his over advertising could have killed it's weekend ? Over saturating of marketing ... is that even possible ? I've seen more advertising about The Dictator than any other movie. But maybe it's only because it was on my radar.
  2. One of Jonah Hill's first movies/appearances! Excellent movie. A.
  3. I personally found it to be too soft of a PG-13 movie for my liking. Something right in the middle of the non-serious avengers and super-serious TDKR would be nice too see !!!Why so serious !?
  4. $185m+ now. Not sure if the update has been posted ...http://www.deadline.com/2012/05/avengers-now-260-5m-overseas-could-reach-585m-worldwide-through-sunday-with-u-s-canada-russia-china-openings/

  6. $150m is an amazing opening. $170m would be out of this world. This is a more family friendly film than each superheroes solo efforts so I think it may have pretty good legs on it's way to $400m.Time will tell of course!
  7. Sellouts for 7pm - 8pm shows on Saturday in Toronto already. Some 12:01pm afternoon shows sold out in Toronto and Vancouver.
  8. I enjoyed Abduction !!! Bucky Larson however, should sweep most of the awards. I had high hopes for that movie. Nothing like Grandma's boy or Strange Wilderness as far as silly comedy goes.
  9. Thank you,Breaking Bad (Saw the final episode of last season!) (It's hard to get malcom's dad out of my head!)Damages 1st SeasonMentalistThe Wire , Watched the first episode, I can tell I will like this.
  10. I watched all 6 seasons of Dexter this month. It has it's flaws (a bit slow in many areas) but overall it was very good. Are there any other shows like this that center around a main character that is interesting. I watched House and enjoyed that. Dexter was a bit more sinister and enjoyed that! But I'm having trouble finding anything like it. There's CSI / Law & Order but those don't interest me.I watched the first 2 episodes of 'Lie to me' but it wasn't going anywhere, no danger involved. I was thinking about checking out 'The Mentalist' but the main actor seems like a pushover. Are there any other shows like these ?And is 'The Wire' really as good as the IMDB rating suggests ?
  11. Is $90 million a general consensus for an opening weekend ? Does the book have as much fever pitch as the Harry Potter books, or Twilight ?
  12. Paul Rudd is a co-star!WTH is Hunger Games. 90 million, I must have missed the boat on that one.Act of Valor, I have to check this out. Made by marines, I'm thinking it's gotta be terrible. I'll check IMDB and RT in a bit!
  13. So much good and so much bad about this series. It's pacing is off, it's filming style changes depending on the director, and there are many boring sub-plots. The twists and devilishly awesome turns are few and far between. This is almost more of a straight Drama rather then a tense crime thriller. Season one was a good start, we got to know everyone, then it's been hit and miss ever since. They really don't need full seasons with one main antagonist, they could have a jon lithgow type for 2-3 episodes and move onto another, I really don't need 12 full episodes of character development for a 30 second payoff!!! The casting is bad, It's probably due to it's budget, but it's bad. I want Angel to say rascally rabbit just once. It's has a low budget and you can tell, but that can be forgiven. The intertwining of bad guys and planting evidence does get very far fetched. In my opinion, they need to tighten up the show, quicken the pacing. Maybe drop it down to 30 hour episodes. What this show does in one season, many shows do in one episode. They could honestly cut 30 minute out of each episode and nobody would miss it.
  14. I wonder how The Vow will do on Valentines day !!! Or are they going to have another crappy ensemble class orgie that has no substance !?!
  15. *spoilersI enjoyed it. I felt it was about 40 minutes to long however. I was never going to get to know everyone in the family in the alotted 2.5 hours. Two totally different worlds colliding and not meshing. Tattoo's world and her issues, then Craig's whole thing, never really got the feeling of a connection or how/why Craig was considered such a good sleuth for the Job.Her hacking skills weren't shown off quite as much as I thought they would be.Instead of Craig and Tattoo complimenting each other it seemed more like he was doing it old school and she was doing it new school.I don't know how he found her at her apartment. I don't know how she got into the mans basement at the end. The car crash at the end was anti-climatcic. So much more could have been used for filler. There were 3 endings to this movie! The bad guy dead, then finding the person with a different name, then grabbing 2 billions euros, then tattoo finding craig with another woman. It wasn't fluid, fragmented and poorly edited, I couldn't follow it, I had to read the plot summary after the fact to put the pieces together. I didn't need to do that with other Mystery/Thrillers I have recently watched. Such as the Thorne : Mini-series on Skyone. Thorne : Sleepyhead is superior !The Rape scene was nothing compared to Last house on the Left. As far as rape scenes go of course. They should have chopped the book up quite a bit, but I guess die hards would be choked. Now time to watch the Swedish version.7/10 , B.
  16. I really enjoyed it. All the good looking people!!! Cilian Murphy Vs. Timberlake was great. I was never bored. An Equilibrium of sorts. A
  17. Excellent soundtrack, cool cinemaphotography. Lacking in any sense of real story or danger. Eye Candy pRon.
  18. Limitless was excellent. Cinematography was second to none. Action was nail biting. But, can't change other people's opinions and tastes!!! They are what they are. I'd put that right beside source code as another movie that you have to hold your pee!!!
  19. Lol, of course I'm joking !!! 50/50, Moneyball, Drive were great movies. Thor was not my cup of tea, but I can see the appeal. The others as well are all fine. I didn't like Contagion though. Never saw PA:3.I'll do my real one ...1. Buck Larson : Born to be a Star (I had high hopes for this movie since I thought it would be along the lines of a Grandma's Boy and Strange Wilderness where I laughed out loud ... but this movie was absolutely horrendous ... nothing redeeming about it. The Seth Rogan porn one is a way better watch)2. 30 Minutes or Less ( Again, I like all the actors / comedians individually, but this was a straight to DVD type movie. Overall a bad script / premise / movie) I would just watch 'Eastbound and Down' instead! Aziz Stand up! Swardson in Blades of Glory + Stand Up + Reno and also Jesse in adventurland and Zombieland!3. Zookeeper ( This is probably my fault, I figured it would be slightly amusing due to being a Night at the Museum knock off, but it was horrific .... which brings me to my next one ... )4. The Dilemma - Holy Hell, Hollywood needs a talent scout. These 2 guys are over the hill for their respective parts, Vince Vaughn is haggered and Kevin James was meant for King of Queens. This movie was not good IMO.5. Paul - Again, after seeing Hott Fuzz, I expected hilarity, but I was met with a poorly executed movie. I signed off half way through.6. Priest - Legions , same shit same pile.7.Killer Elite - While I enjoyed bits and pieces, they were few and far between. The Clive vs Jason part was excellent, the rest seemed like filler or just poorly edited. Better parts are probably on the cutting room floor. DeNiro, you can turn down a role!8. Your Highness - No jokes hit for me. I believe that Danny Mcbride mentioned he wanted to make one of those movies that young teens would like , but at $50 million and rated R ... bad idea !9. Apollo 18 - See Moon instead !10. Take me home tonight - Straight to DVD. John Hughes wannabe, but it missed by infinity.- Cowboys and Aliens fits in there somewhere, but not sure where. The start was great, then it went into campy.Best Comedy of the Year : The Change-UpBest Thrill ride : Source CodeBest Super Hero : I am number FourBest Sci-Fi : In Time (Total Suprise)Best Arthouse/Mainstream mix : DriveBest Documentary : SennaBest Comedy/Horror : Fright NightBest Animated : Rio or RangoBest Sports : MoneyballBest Horror : Final D5Best Drama : Lincoln LawyerBest Action : MI:4Best Adventure : SherlockMost Creative ways to die : Drive, Columbiana, Final Destination 5 !!!

  21. I should have recorded the entire thing. Peter Jacksons 3D part was awesome, dual 3D screens on each side of the Tram with a huge fight between King Kong and a T-Rex! Had a fast and furious them. War of the world. Desperate housewives !?!? No Western Shootout like 13 years ago!Went to try an In'N'Out burger since we don't have them in Canada, but we met up with my little cousin again and I gave it to him ;(Starts at 48s.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=67hqeQcTDRU
  22. Not strict at all. Very sexual rated R movies like Basic Instinct and .9mm we weren't allowed to watch. But I watched all the typical Arnold stuff etc. We were already checking out porn mags at 10. I played doctor as a kid! My parents took us to Bordello of Blood for my 12th birdthday. I saw tons of Violence , Swearing, T&A before I was 'suppose' too. The freakiest movie to me as a kid was, Boogieman, Never Ending Story, IT, Return to OZ and Labrynth all psychologically effed me! I thought the boogie man was in my closet, I thought the wolf was under my bed so I didn't put my feet down, When I walked home in the Rain in an area just like 'IT' I always thought about that effing clown. Return to OZ, those doods with wheels for hand scared me. Labrynth had some creatures in it that freaked me out. Candyman was my sister scariest. She couldn't have mirrors in her room! When I was old enough to finally rent horror films underage at a video store that didn't care , I wasn't affected by them. We rented candid candid candid camera! It's like a 'B' rated version of the TV series. My auntie walked in while me and my buddy were both totally enthralled as this readheaded chick with a huge bush was riding a horse naked ... so embarrassing at that age. My mom would only take a shower with someone else in the house after she watched Psycho. I recently went on Vacation to Pheonix. I swam in the pool at night by myself. I had the feeling that a shark or some type of see creature was about to rise up and git me!!! Thanks JAWS !!! Da Da, Da Da, Da da da da da!!! Went to Universal studios as well. Got a good look at jaws again on the Tram tour! Ah, memories!
