    This is not some big budget franchise like THE AVENGERS or PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN. 2nd weekend numbers with major territories opening up will tell a lot. Why China delays the approval of this release in their country?

    It's like an imaginary 6th season of BREAKING BAD if Walt turns himself to DEA for the Nazis and goes into Witness Protection Program and all of them can't stand each other while trying to appear as regular family. Meanwhile Gus Fring people are hunting Walt down for what he has done to their god-like leader. MILLERS are OK. But I prefer HEAT better for McCarthy's loudmouth performance.

    Del Toro doesn't have Cameron's ambition (maybe studios trying to reign him in), or his technical bravado. Del Toro remains a modest storyteller rather than a ball-busting visionary everybody has been bandying about. I say bring back De Palma back. Show the kids how to set up a classic shot.

    Actually the hype has been building since it was making its rounds in European circuit. The first wave of reviews are so overwhelmingly positive and its opening less than $35M-$40M would be considered a disappointment. Still, the weekends numbers exceeded every expectation including the many experts in this forum... I thought it's gonna open with high 30s and has a series of low drop-off to its way to $170M or so. Now they are talking about $300M DOM and God knows how much OS numbers.

    Doesn't matter whether it is a scifi or not. Technical. GA regards it as scifi. A good movie brings in money, scifi or otherwise
