  1. MoS can't get to $20M...? Well, there goes that $700M dream A dream within a dream, I guess
  2. PACRIM is not officially over $400M WW. But we can say as a fact that it has passed the milestone?
  3. I think the marketing behind PR & STiD are pretty substantial and spot on. STID is a well made scifi action but its war-on-terror theme is getting too tiresome for audience. It still made more than $200M DOM but too cerebral for OS audience no matter how good the marketing is. PR is a little too thin on plotting & no matter how fanboys including this one gushed over it, GA feels it is a cheap TRANSFORMERS-lite. WHD looks too similar to OHF and nobody likes Jamie Foxx. Whereas OHF takes the concept seriously, WHD has too much unfunny but supposedly comic moments where killing man is treated like a gag ("Now you can shoot him!!").
  4. http://movies.yahoo.com/news/gravity-reviews-critics-call-alfonso-cuarons-space-adventure-142026054.html It may have been filmed in front of a green screen, but The Hollywood Reporter's Todd McCarthy said that the space sequences are so realistic that audiences will swear it was shot on location. "At once the most realistic and beautifully choreographed film ever set in space, Gravity is a thrillingly realized survival story spiked with interludes of breath-catching tension and startling surprise," McCarthy wrote. For Variety's Justin Chang, "Gravity" is the kind of evolutionary step forward in film that is guaranteed to inspire a sense of awe in viewers. Its achievement in the realm of visual effects and 3D puts it in the company of "Life of Pi" and "Avatar," he maintained... ========================================================================================== I am excited at the prospect of this movie...
  5. Remaining major markets Australia 19 September 2013 Germany 3 October 2013 France 16 October 2013 UK 18 October 2013 There is still life in this one yet But with CLOUDY2 opening one week later in UK, this one may get hammered...badly. CLOUDY2 with its day-glo bright colors seem to be the better looking choice for families.
  6. Is Mojo "official?" The China number published in this thread is official enough Everybody's been relying on them for months now. OK, OK, I was just pushing somebody with real number to induct PR into the 400M WW Club & making it "official" So..? Well..? Somebody say it!!
  7. She looks alright but she does exude a certain kind of sexual charisma. Supermodels look beautiful but they have non-existant soul/core. Aniston looks like somebody you actually want to share a bed with
  8. 61M, still an insane number for such a mediocre movie...
  9. PR WW would hit $400M WW after Monday..? What is the official exchange rate? US$1 = RMB 6?
  10. Well, something that grossed over $200M preferably....
  11. OS $ for PR accounts for 75% of total WW gross. That's gotta be one of the highest OS share ever...
  12. I don't know how DRAGON2, GODZILLA & GOOD DINO would play nicely with each other in this upcoming marketplace. All these sound similar to each other with DRAGON2 likely to take the crown for the Battle of Giant Lizards 2014. GOOD DINO has staggered release with UK in July, some European countries in August & Germany in October (!). As far as OS is concerned Pixar may be smart to stay away from Godzilla's rampages. June is great for HTTYD2: it has adult-scifi EDGE OF TOMORROW and some rom-coms. DRAGON2 would have a pair of nice competition-free weekends and very nice weekday grosses before TF4 comes in on June 27th
  13. Can't believe the original made $421M. Sony got complacent and put this together without much thought..
  14. Del Toro should cast a Chinese actor next
  15. Yea, you are right there. Look at 2012 & 2011 Summer OS (Top 5 Summer Movies Os earning) 2012 TA $888M IA4 $715M TDKR $636M MAD3 $525M MIB3 $445 Total $3.2B 2011 HP DH2 $960M PIRATES 4 $802M TF4 $771M KFP2 $500M SMURFS $421M Total $3.4B Now 2013 IM3 $804M FF6 $547M DM2 $435M MU $400M MoS $360M Total $2.5B Gru & MU are beaten by Panda & Smurfs of 2011? Hard to believe. 2013 is very underwhelming....
  16. IA4 had an incredible run, mind-boggling performance for a mediocre cartoon
  17. TLR is set to do $30M or so. Again, China will be the highest grossing region for a Hollywood film
