  1. Eh, I got some baby cousins and the first movies I showed them were Rainbow Brite and The Chimpmunk Adventure, then later on Cars and Finding Nemo they loved too. We've yet to watch a live action movie together though. I'm thinking of showing them Flight of the Navigator or The Goonies, I liked those movies when I was a kid.
  2. The only times my parents wouldn't let me see movies was if there was violence against animals because they knew it would upset me. That started when I saw Grizzly and had nightmares of that.
  3. Favorite actors and actresses, and perhaps your favorite performance from your top picks.
  4. Favorite movies of 2011 Rise of the Apes Mission Impossible 4 Super 8 Captain America Transformers 3 Thor Fast Five Drive goes down as the official worst movie I have ever seen, it's beyond me why people like it. It's crap at it's fullest!
  5. Kick AssThe CraziesThe A-TeamAlice in WonderlandThat's it, everything else I either thought sucked, or wasn't interested enough to actually waste my time to see it.
  6. My Dad went out of his way it seemed to take me to some of the most scariest and tense movies when growing up. My first R-Rated flick at age 8 was Aliens. I remember closing my eyes when the aliens came on because they were scary as a kid, and my dad would pull my hands away and tell me to stop being a pussy.
  7. What you said about Emilie should have bought the horse, I agree 100%. Don't these directors or editors get these movies screened tested anymore? It's kind of strange how we all can watch these movies and think of better outcomes, and we are far from professionals.
  8. I think this is why I like this movie so much. The comedy was fun!
  9. Eh, we have political leaders murdered all of the time, it's just the Government keeps raps on it. As for your second complaint, to this day, I still wonder where were our fighter jets and counter measures that were supposed to be in place when September 11th happened. NYC, Ok, I can give you that, but they should have had missiles ready to fire anything that was within the Pentagon's no authorized flight zone. They claim to have those measure in place, but perhaps it's all talk, but not a reality?
  10. The movie was OK. Not the best movie I saw all year, no where near it, and definitely not the best horse movie I have seen either, (actually, this is one of the worst horse movies I have seen to be honest, The Black Stallion has it whipped!)I was loving the movie all the way until the horse was taken away from the French girl (who was my favorite character in the movie) It started to get bogged down from there. When Joey was stuck in the trench, jumping the tank, getting all caught up by the barbed wire, I really had to role my eyes at these scenes. But, the ending just sucked. The boy gets re-united with Joey, but then to have the military auction him off, and then get bought by the French Grandfather, only for him to give the horse back to the boy, am I missing something here? What was the point of this scene? I thought maybe they were going to have Emilie meet the main boy and he becomes her prince charming, but obviously that doesn't happen. I just thought the ending was a real let down. But I did like the cast, and personally, I would have loved to have seen the Captain that bought Joey in the beginning have a more prominent role in the movie, and the violence was done tastefully, as tasteful as one can get showcasing a war movie.I gave it a B, like I said, movie started out great, it just fell apart near the end. And I hope to see the little girl in more movies, she was such a darling in this!
  11. They should just wait on Star Trek 2 and release it the same year as Transformers 4, then they will have a good year that time.I'm not expecting gigantic numbers, but the trailer for GI Joe showed during MI4, and that got more buzz than the Avengers trailer. Don't count that one out. Dwayne Johnson and Bruce Willis are in it, and people do like them.
  12. I stayed for the credits to see the location shots, and they had units for Prague, Russia, Dubai and India! And the humor was actually funny, from all of them. From the banter between Brandt, Ethan and Benji, to Jane having to deal with the playboy!
  13. I live in south Florida. Snow birds come down this time of year. Most snow birds are of the retirement age, and Warhorse would definitely be a must see movie for them. Like it or not, but people do like movies about the close bond between animals and people. Horses in themselves, are exquisite and noble animals that sacrificed a lot for the greater of man kind, and people do acknowledge it and respect it, and love to see it unfold in a motion picture. Also, that morning, I was watching the news stations, and many of them said that Warhorse is the best bet to take the family to after a Christmas dinner, so that probably had something to do with it.I did see many families and elderly in the lines for Warhorse.
  14. I'm surprised Warhorse isn't making more money. When I was getting my tickets yesterday to see MI4, the managers came out and told everyone that all Warhorse showings have been sold out for the rest of the night, and I have a friend who lives in GA, and she experienced the same thing, it was sold out in all movie plexes so she never got to see it yet.And I will say, I believe it, because while waiting for MI4, the lines for Warhorse were amazing, going almost out the damn door.
  15. Just saw it. It was AWESOME! I'm a fan of Simon Pegg and Jeremy Renner, and they did not disappoint. Cruise was also on top of his game, and the incredible bonus. The on location shots. Breathtaking. I give it an A.
  16. No, but some major points should be left in. Personally, I think they should have left in SPEW back in GOF, because it would have worked more beautifully in DH2. I loved that part in the book when Ron just randomly is concerned about the Elves, and that's what wins Hermione completely over.
  17. Awe, you didn't like "That's one bad hat Harry!" Cracks me up every time.
  18. I gave it a C. I liked James McAvoy's take on the younger Xavier, and Wolverine's little cameo, but I was very disappointed by the film as a whole, and thought, except for maybe Magneto and Xavier, the rest were very weak. The women were portrayed as whores, and Magneto going all bad because his mother was killed, just seemed cliched. I'll take Bryan Singer's X-Men over anybody else! X-Men United set the bar that has yet to be passed in my opinion!
  19. "GASPS" Whenever it is re-released out into the theaters, you have to see at least Jurassic Park, and if possible, perhaps Close Encounters of the Third Kind. These two are my favorites from him, as well as Jaws, but Jaws is just as good on the small screen as the big one, although I did get a chance to view it at an anniversary showing.
  20. Eh, I thought the movie was stupid, and I didn't even finish it all the way through, so got up about halfway and left the theaters. Only movie I ever did walk out of. After trying to watch Batman Begins and Terminator 4, I realize, I just don't like Christian Bale's acting.
  21. Well, it beat ROTK simply because of 3D and IMAX. I felt the same way with Harry Potter 7.2 beating ROTK, but then I have to realize, we have three movies this year grossing over a billion dollars. The billion dollar mark will pretty soon be as common as the 100,000,000 domestic mark. Remember when that was a rare thing at one time?Yeah, well, we know what works for these movies (Transformers, decent military guys like Lennox and Epps, and maybe ONE crazy loon, either Simmons OR Sam, can't have both) and what doesn't work, ridiculous love interests that detract the story line, a half ass written plot, too much emphasis on stupid ass humans. So, the fact that we are dealing with CGI characters that never get old, well, we can sit back and wait for a reboot!
  22. I like my war movies, and this has to be one of the very best (Full Metal Jacket is my number one) Yes, the opening scene is one of the greatest action scenes of all time, but you have to sit back and look at the characters, all of them. They were all excellently written and portrayed by excellent actors. Personally, while Tom Hanks is awesome as all ways, I loved Tom Sizemore's Horvath!
  23. I can't wait to see this as well. Chloe Moretz, along with Elle Fanning are going to be like on fire among the young actresses in a few years.
