  1. Looking For Alaska is a great book, what the hell? Paper Towns is his best imo, An Abundance Of Katherines is very good too, Will Grayson, Will Grayson (written with David Levithan) is excellent too.
  2. Where the hell did you read that? It's definitely gotten good acclaim, it's just one more example of a movie where the naysayers are far more vocal than those who liked or loved it, and frankly, it's just getting tedious after a while. It has incredible direction by Edwards, top notch VFX, top notch action & set pieces, a great atmosphere & tension, Godzilla is finally done justice imo (the original 1954 is okay imo, it's just super cheesy and I've just never been a fan of men in suits as monsters, unless you're nostalgic, it just looks ridiculous to me), The MUTOS are great & well handled, not enough Godzilla for some, I think the approach to revealing him is smart & fresh, old school, the score is excellent, the acting is fine really, Cranston is excellent but could be in the movie longer, ATJ has a generic stock character role just like every other person in the movie, he's the grounded, soldier guy you're supposed to be rooting for (and I did, but I'm an ATJ fan), that you can identify with, he provides this human perspective, and he has to be reunited with his family, it's nothing earth shattering but at least, Borenstein & Edwards made an effort to find a story that works, even if it's really about Godzilla & the MUTOS in the end.
  3. You guys do know the budget for TFIOS is only 12 million right? Whether it's frontloaded or not, it really doesn't matter, Fox is gonna make so much cash on this one. So happy.
  4. Forgot about DOFP, the two exceptions really
  5. Geez, for once that a blockbuster this year gets pretty much total critical acclaim, it's going to bomb. The irony....
  6. Forgot about Mockingjay, the only one I'd say. Although opening big nowadays doesn't seem to mean much.
  7. Totally, I'm wondering if there's going to be a single blockbuster past 300 M in the US for the rest of the year.
  8. Is that so surprising? A new blockbuster every week or 2 weeks --------------> legs blown to pieces
  9. Come on, what the hell was WB thinking? They were asking for it releasing it basically at the same time as Maleficent worldwide. They're dumping it is what they're doing.
  10. What a surprise, DOFP hit it hard, it's just what happens, it'll still make 500 M WW comfortably
  11. Aaron Taylor is one of the most talented actors in his age range: Nowhere Boy, Kick-Ass & 2 (you might not like him but he's legit excellent in those as well), Albert Nobbs, also very good in Anna Karenina & Savages. Feel free to disagree....
  12. Fortune teller firedeep giving his predictions after only one day of release, amazing as always. Otherwise, it opening lower than TASM2 in a few markets is supposed to be surprising? It's going to do less than TASM2 OS, simple as that. 500-550 M WW is probably the target.
  13. It seems to be making more in Asia overall than TASM did, Brazil same thing, China is gonna be huge, it will more then make up for the disappointing performance overall in Europe, domestic will decrease. I can see it.
  14. If you think Spidey 3 is superior to TASM2, you are out of your freaking mind. Sorry if ya'll don't agree.
  15. Different times. TASM2 is clearly hands & shoulders over SM3, it's also better than TASM (acknowledged by quite a few critics & a lot of people) and yet, it's lower. Screw RT, it's worthless and it's just a great tool to control feeble minded individuals who can't think for themselves.
  16. Except that there are also people (and some critics yes) who think the exact opposite, that the movie is well constructed, rich, that every little thing ties together at the end, Electro & GG (with his little screentime) are imo far better villains than Sandman & Harry Goblin & Venom in Spidey 3.
  17. Did it really? Cinemascore doesn't mean much it seems but it had an A-, it was decently to well received, and I'm talking about the GA, not the internet crowd. It being a reboot hurt it, but I'm eternally grateful that Sony did that, because me & a lot of others LOVE Webb, Andy & Emma's take on the material.
