  1. Movies are expensive, that's just the way it is, you wouldn't believe how much a simple short movie done properly costs (I'm finding out right now). Let's just stop blaming Webb, remarks on CG work have been unanimously very positive, I mean, from people who actually saw the movie.
  2. Let's just hope (at least for those who wish the movie well) that the legs will be better than for TASM seeing as it seems like TASM2 is better.
  3. You can't use IMDB seriously, you have no idea of knowing who even saw the movie on there. For WOM, I'd think Twitter is a pretty good indication, it just makes sense. Most reviews are saying it's better than the first one and yet it might end up lower on RT, I'm just saying.
  4. Damn, TASM2 actually is decreasing in several (not big but still) markets, it pretty much seems like a given that it's better than TASM and yet. Superhero fatigue with Cap America a couple of weeks before, no other explanation.
  5. SK opening doesn't really make sense but let's stop the doom & gloom for a second, the movie will increase. Let's not forget that Cap America came out not too long ago, is it possible that the so-long talked about superhero fatigue is definitely here in a few territories? The movie will make bank anyway, some of you are so over-reactive about everything.
  6. It's definitely having increases in a few territories while staying strong in others. It will increase & do well.
  7. Successful in English speaking countries, not much in others, still a fantastic performance
  8. Kick-Ass 2 drop is insane, I don't get it, I just don't, what's wrong with the movie? It's a lot of fun, not as good as the first, but still very good. Budget is still only 28 M, it's on track to make easily 10 to 15 M less than KA1, but it will make more overseas, it's going to even out, as long as it reaches 100 M WW like the first one, I think it's looking good for a sequel.
  9. Fact is Cumberbatch has an incredible presence, and uniqueness to his physique, he's also very charismatic, he might not be considered good looking by society's standards (lol), but he stands out in a great way.
  10. Okay, I'd be interested in living your world, must be interesting.
  11. Wow at some of the comments here, to actually think Wasikowska is superior to Stone, laughable, keep on being delusional.
  12. Cumberbatch is NOT overrated, he's one of the best actors out there, and is absolutely unique. If you think Wasikowska is an upgrade over Stone, I can't take you seriously, Stone is way more talented.
  13. Blomkamp said he likes blowing shit up.
  14. Very surprising number for KA2, but hey, it cost 28 million, overseas will make up for it.
  15. Why are there so many negative complaints about the comic book? Is it because it goes really far in the violence? Because I just love them, whether it is KA1, Hit Girl & KA2.
  16. Kick-Ass did very very well on home video, it did as big as its entire theatrical run.
  17. 300 M WW would be a nice success for it.
  18. It's still nowhere as comparable an experience. You don't see Pac Rim on a computer screen or on a TV (unless you got a videoprojector), you see it on the biggest screen possible.
  19. I hope that this amazing run in China will convince WB that they need to get a sequel going, the potential is absolutely massive here.
  20. Except that there isn't a rule about what works and doesn't work in a movie, it's just opinions, what works for one person in a movie won't work for another one, so there is no objectivity anywhere, it's just vision, and perception. The fact that they know better is true, of course, but that's not the issue here.
  21. Not all of them but a good bunch of them. Kevin Smith did a great discussion on this, if those people feel they can do something better than you do (because you can feel it in so many reviews, that kind of condescending tone, that you know what's best for the movie), then they should get creative, they should act instead of being passive. I can't believe those people are PAID to see movies, just, what? Seriously, that still doesn't mean you can't critique something, but it's got no meaning or no purpose if it's just that.
  22. Let's be honest (and maybe that's a cliché), but many of those film critics do what they do because they don't have the necessary talent to make those movies that they criticize. I know it's easy to say and everything, but if you're just here to tell whoever wants to listen "This movie is goooooooooooood", "this movie is baaaaaaaaaaaaaaad", it's not worth a damn, they should try it.
  23. It's because Avatar haters can't stand to admit that millions of people love the movie, as BR sales show (as you said) and as the BO gross obviously shows.
