Japan is going to do so much more than 10-15, I mean, it's Japan, the crowd at the livestream they did with Ernie Cline a few months back was just eating up every reference dropped. It should be big.

Saw it today, and I think it's on another level than Cap 2, ie best Marvel "solo" movie by far. So much more fun, so deliciously sci fi, witty, emotional.

Yeah...... I don't think they were supposed to look pretty, more realistic looking for sure, I'm a big fan of the Nickelodeon cartoon, but I love how they look in the movie & the CG is really top notch, only saw clips & featurettes for now, but they're as distinct from one another as they should be, and are incredibly expressive.

Why do you think they changed the design? To make them look more "realistic", you can't use the same designs from the cartoon or the old trilogy, this is 2014, it just looks silly in a live action context. Their design actually makes sense for what they're doing, it's easy enough to understand.

Godzilla just got hit hard by the onslaught of blockbusters. It's kind of what happens, one blockbuster comes and replaces the previous one, big drops everywhere except for a few exceptions, move along.....

It's about plenty of things......

10.9 million estimated opening day, yeah, that's SO disappointing. Geez.......

Well, once you step out of the movie theater and watch it on a TV or even a big screen that's still tiny compared to the movie theater experience, it just doesn't have enough going for it to sustain the hype.

Really? I think it's very real, around the awards season, it was very present. Still is today I think, a lot of people can agree that visually, it's a real accomplishment, but aside from that, it's just super hollow, there's no depth (and I remain unconvinced by those saying the movie is actually really deep and works on a subconscious level, bla bla), the script is weak (not that it matters here) it's just an experience with Cuaron showing off for 1h30, but hell, that's just my opinion. At the end of the day, I'd rather watch a character driven movie that will really resonate with me emotionally and will have me thinking about it after.

Gravity is overrated, and not a blockbuster really.

There's good cheese & bad cheese obviously. There are countless scripts that read as very cheesy, and yet, the execution is what makes it or breaks it. You get killer actors who can make those lines work and you're golden, they hit gold with Ansel & Shailene, Nat, etc on TFIOS, could have been a disaster, Josh Boone seems to have done a very fine job as well, Stuck In Love was a promising debut, so I'm not surprised.

Maybe but it's always been referred to as such, and John Green always referred to it as TFIOS.

Marketing 101, and saying the final product is horrid, jesus christ, holy hyperbole. At the very least, acknowledge the many positives of the movie, I swear some of you people, it's either "awesome", or "terrible".
