  1. yeah, one day apart, but the pre-sale difference is just flat out funny~ at this moment: DGBMH2: 16585 v Interstellar: 1445
  2. did Gravity's run there counts as having good leg? same OW amount, exchange rate issues, Interstellar needs better leg to match/ or exceed Gravity's gross.
  3. so what went wrong?...Nolanites? forced RT to certify fresh a sub 75% movie along the way. .
  4. there's no imaging, it's big, I was there. Gone Girl is simply a movie in news, FA was a news event. this is the problem with looking back to the unjusted number, people would prone to underestimate the popularity of films such as FA.
  5. not at the level of Fatal Attraction. far from it. ofc, the media diversity is a big factor here. too many attention grabbers to compete for being the big news. back then, it's a much simpler time.
  6. Fatal attraction was a big deal, highly discussed, headline movie back int the day; not comparable at all.
  7. so it will be at the same range of Gravity OW?
  8. how so? I think BH6 is doing fine, an improvement from Wreck-it Ralph, Frozen is a phenomena, no reason to expect any WDAS feature should do as good.
  9. if it catches on, this movie could be more than huge. but the timing though? if it starts now, by its release, will Miniolanguage still in fashion?
  10. is the Gewara presale any indicator/predictor of the boxoffice number? strictly by the presale number, Interstellar is going to be humiliated by a romantic comedy by Johnnie To.
  11. so based on the prediction, a higher or even OW for Interstellar? the leg might be the issue?
  12. this could be deciding factor here. Nolan gets his UK though, a much bigger market.
  13. Gravity got 17m out of Mexico, it's much higher than other Latin American countries.
  14. ? this part of discussion started because someone mentioned that Interstellar was ahead even in admissions. we all can tell in terms of gross, Interstellar is ahead~
  15. also, someone seemed to mention that Gravity only had previews (no limited 250) and started at 10pm; don't know whether it was true.
  16. maybe wait for at least Fri number to talk about front or rear sight? though the Inception had more GA appeals things had been mentioned before, but mostly got ignored.
  17. ok, both Gravity and Interstellar rely on males to carry run, the more male-dominant one would win in the end.
  18. that's serious unbalanced~ I'm sure Inception and Gravity had more female audience in the mix. if the ratio didn't change, even with higher OW, it'll probably end up gross less than Gravity?
  19. in 3D, no. I think the magic of VFX is that we do know it's fake and so we can marble that how can it be done so well. the trick is life like, but not indiscernible from real life. there's a distinct difference in the degree "life like" between Avatar 3D and 2D (the blue is too bright and thick, the CG tone is more pronounced).
