  1. http://www.hsx.com/forum/forum.php?id=3&pid=239911 Odd that they think burying it is better than throwing it on video to make some money back via Redbox and other means.
  2. I had posted something much longer but someone else edited it (even though it says I did for some reason). And I really wish you'd stop sending threats to me via email. It's childish and creepy.
  3. Elf 2. Surprised this hasn't happened already. Bad Santa is getting a sequel so why not the family friendly alternative? Jeepers Creepers 3. This has been stuck in development Hell ever since the second was a hit but I hope it'll happen eventually.
  4. It was okay. The story threads it starts are somwhat intriguing but it definitely could have been better. Lefevre now kind of looks like crap and she isn't even that old. Robertson is a miscast. She may be 23 but looks about 15.
  5. Starts tonight in the US (not sure about other countries). I'm looking forward to it. Hope it's good.
  6. I can't keep them straight with all the date shifts and announcements. As far as I can recall, the following are scheduled: 2014: Transformers 4 The Amazing Spider-Man #2 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Dawn of the Planet of the Apes Sin City: A Dame to Kill For X-Men: Days of Future Past Fast & Furious 7 Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 1 2015: Jurassic Park 4 The Avengers 2 Terminator 5 Independence Day 2 Pirates of the Caribbean 5 Assassin's Creed The Fantastic Four Finding Dory Star Wars Episode 7 (likely) Kung Fu Panda 3 Alvin & the Chipmunks 4 The Smurfs 3 Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 2 Hotel Transylvania 2
  7. Softcore or not, it's still porn. I work in editing and casting for a porn company for a living.
  8. Wes Craven also worked in the porn industry early in his career. One year after Last House on the Left he did an X-rated porn film, working as Editor and Assistant Director. And actor wise, Stallone and Cameron Diaz both did pornography before hitting it big in Hollywood.
  9. From IMDB: Playboy: Kerri Kendall - September 1990 Video Centerfold
  10. http://www.deadline.com/2013/06/why-was-ex-soft-porn-filmmake-recently-hired-as-ampas-senior-executive/ She comes across as such a prude. Michael Bay started out directing porn (not exactly shocking when you think about it), Channing Tatum was a stripper, the director of the live-action Inspector Gadget started his career directing porn. Porn is a good starting point for behind the scenes work because you can start with a higher profile job than you would if you worked on Hollywood films.
  11. http://www.joblo.com/movie-news/awfully-good-foodfight I remember hearing about this movie ages ago. It actually sounded like a halfway decent idea at the time. Sounds like it turned into a total train wreck. Just watch those video clips. Someone actually thought some of those lines were a good idea for a kids movie?!!??!
  12. At least I don't think Mick Garris has anything to do with this. He is responsible for the worst King adaptations (The Bag of Bones, Desperation, Sleepwalkers, the TV miniseries remake of The Shining).
  13. Good number for The Purge. NYSM is already overrated. It was inconsequential, inoffensive (read: boring) fluff.
  14. Without that, you wouldn't have horror movies pretty much as they would get of the situation like they rightfully should and there would be no movie.
  15. Yeah, I liked the movie too. The son pissed me off though with some of the decisions he made.
  16. Even the lowest grossing film on that list turned a profit or will once DVD and other ancillary markets are taken into account. The Last Exorcism Part 2 and Dark Skies did 15M and 17M respectively theatrically yet their low cost means they will make money. IMDB used to have the budget for TCM 3D at 20M. 8M sounds way more reasonable, even with 3D. With those kind of budgets, why is Hollywood at times seemingly afraid to make horror films? As long as the budget stays reasonable, they don't lose money.
  17. The Purge proves that horror can be a hit during anytime of the year. Hollywood usually waits until August and the Fall to release its horror films. There's no reason there can't be some earlier, as this and The Conjuring will prove.
  18. Think we'll start seeing a horror film released more often in this time period? Come on Paramount, next June has a Friday the 13th on the calendar. Get moving with a Friday the 13th sequel involving summer camp.
  19. I think he does these movies because not only do they not take very long to film (The Purge took only 20 days), they make him money so he can focus on his real passion, writing, directing, and doing small films like the Before Midnight. He at first was hesitant to do horror as it apparently took a lot of convincing to get him to agree to do Daybreakers. That film wasn't much of a hit either but he obviously liked the experience enough that he's doing Predestination with the same directors.
