    Sci Fi has never gotten it's due respect with the Academy and there's no better film they could have been delivered to make up for that than Gravity. To me snubbing it will be equal to snubbing Star Wars. It needs to win the BP Oscar, but it probably won't.

    Yeah hard to gauge a frontrunner here. Although I could easily see an exact repeat of the Director/Picture winners at the Oscars.

    Not really. It doesn't do anything particularly amazingly. Anyone should be able to expose the horrors of slavery fairly easily. It's not really a hard task to do.

    Congrats to Cate and Matt! Looks like it will be a 12YAS shutout tonight. I hate to admit it but that makes me kinda happy.

    AH was probably purposefully jammed into comedy so the Globes could still award it without having to snub Gravity.

    AH was my favorite movie of that bunch, but WOWS is the better comedy.

    Midnight In Paris and Blue Jasmine are actually my favorite Allen films. And I've seen most of his "classics."

    Anyone else notice how into it the audience is tonight? They're like seriously cheering for practically everyone. The Oscars are never this lively.

    I'm really surprised/disappointed Wadjda has been getting shut out of all the foreign noms. The movie was utterly charming and marked a huge milestone in middle eastern filmmaking.
