I usually prefer complete silence too when I watch a movie in a theatre but NGL the experience of watching Endgame and NWH in a packed theatre on OD (especially where I am from) was the greatest cinema experience for me. I would give anything to experience that again.

Because we have more than a decade of experience with Deadline and its early numbers. Sure sometimes they are accurate and maybe they have improved of late, perhaps due to Nikki not being there anymore, but they are notorious for a reason.

25 seems to be where it is headed (unless the storm heading towards California causes major disruption). 75m total seems iffy to be honest. With a B+ cinemascore I find it hard to believe this will leg it to out to 3x when Shazam 2 and Black Adam could not even come close despite similar audience reviews and better preview to OW multi. BB has the advantage of no significant new opener coming up but Barbenheimer is going strong and that is competition enough imo.

That 8.5 number was not an estimate. That was a projection by one person based on his cities ticket sales (and even then the user clarified that it would be better to wait for Katniss or Keyser to give a projection since their sample size is bigger or wait for Charlie since he has access to actual numbers). Deadline gave a 9.8 number yesterday which was pretty damn accurate. People need to learn the difference between estimates and projections so that we can avoid both extremes of reactions (people dooming the movie early and then people mocking and celebrating now as if the new number is a win).

We don’t even have Friday numbers yet so it is premature to say it will have a worse IM than Shazam 2 at this point. But if it does one reason for that would be that IM’s in summer are usually lower than during other times of the year since schools and colleges are on vacation so more people can go watch it on Thursday than otherwise.

Nah they have included a loooot of less known and unknown domestic reviewers. They have let in pretty much anyone with a podcast, blog or a youtube channel to be a reviewer now. It's ridiculous.

Beetle is another name for Betel leaves which is Paan. So it's a movie about Paan dipped in blue curacao with a cameo by Ajay Devgan who comes in to say his iconic line "Bolo Zubaan Neeli". I heard you get 1 paan free with every IMAX ticket (none for the poor people in normal theatres). But as I said in my above post hardly any tickets have been sold because why would you spend 500 on IMAX to eat a paan when you can get it for 20 times less at local kone waali tapri.

I don't know when tickets went on sale but the situation for Blue Beetle looks absolutely dire around me. It has barely sold a handful of tickets even in IMAX. This is simply a very bad time for it to open with 3 big Indian movies going on and Oppenheimer still going strong in IMAX. In fact some of the IMAX's in the city, including the one nearest to me, have not even given it any shows at all. The others will probably drop it after the weekend and give it back to Oppenheimer and the local movies. I wonder if it can cross even Shazam 2

That would be a relatively low multi imo. Except for The Flash recent DC movies have had multi's of high 7 to high 8 (The Batman at 7.61, Black Adam at 8.81 and Shazam 2 at 8.85). So with a combination of good reviews so far, a small opening and it being a new character so no significant fan rush like for an established character like Flash, I would expect this to have a mid to high 7 multi if not 8 like BA and S2. But with some schools still out on vacation it could lower the multi a bit but I still don't see it dipping below 7

That 1 single tracking right now is pointing to below 20m OW which would be one of the lowest for a modern SH movie and for DCEU (except WW84 but that was during Covid). How low was your expectation that that is not as bad lol

Yeah this looks like a SH movie that belongs in the late 2000's - early 2010's. Would likely have done well during those time frames also. Now it looks like a generic SH movie like Shazam 2, Flash or The Marvels

Looks better than pretty much most other Marvel shows since the first season except for Moonknight and Secret Invasion whose trailer was intriguing but the show itself was somewhat of a let down. But still feeling a bit less enthusiastic about this than the first one but still more excited for this than pretty much any recent or upcoming MCU show

Since users can't see what warnings others have gotten or how many points they have I am not sure how you came to this conclusion? But rest assured where appropriate, actions are taken.

While the advent of oil money has been disappointing, the recent improvements in performances by Liverpool, Arsenal, Newcastle (I know oil money again), etc has been encouraging giving the hope that the league will become more competitive in the future. Also there is still no comparison between BM and MC. While City has won only 7 league titles this century Bayern has amassed 17 out of 23 since 2000. I will never forgive Arsenal for bottling it this season and handing the title to Man Shitty again

Yes this is what happens when you play in an actual competitive league with good teams capable of winning unlike a certain boring and uncompetitive Liga dominated by the same team again and again.
