Weekend Thread | TAYLOR SWIFT $31M Estimate, KOTFM $23M
ZeeSoh replied to Issac Newton's topic in Numbers and Data
If either of you are unhappy with each others posts, and this applies to others as well, there is an ignore function you can utilize to hide that persons posts and never have to worry about them. Or you can report a post if you find it egregious and breaking forum rules OR simply taking these personal issues with posting styles to PM and hash it out there. Of course this is just an opinion and you can choose to ignore it. But it is not conducive to harmonious discourse on the forum to air personal distaste to a persons posting style openly as all viewpoints (within limits) are allowed on the forum (this more directed towards the first poster for clarification). -
The Box Office Buzz, Tracking, and Pre-Sale Thread
ZeeSoh replied to Shawn Robbins's topic in Box Office Discussion
Moderation Please keep discussions here on topic regards to tracking. This is not The Marvels thread. Extended discussions regarding its OW and reception can be had in its dedicated thread. This has been said multiple times before, now warnings will follow. -
Bharat is already one of the 2 official names of India. So it is not changing the name it is dropping "India" altogether. Not only would this be a hugely costly thing to do (changing names of all organizations with India in its name, changing the currency in circulation, changing websites and so so many more) at a time when people are suffering economically and the money could be used in many social schemes , it also impacts other things. For example a lot of things are named after our country, like Indian Subcontinent, Indian Ocean, Indo-Pacific, etc. We lose that stature by dropping this name for no reason. There is absolutely no logical reason or benefit from this circus. I could understand if India was the only official name of the country and the government wanted to add Bharat. But that is not the case here. Bharat is already an official name for the country and they want to drop India entirely. Godi and his government is doing this for entirely idealogical and vote bank reasons.

I like how you how completely ignored your original argument which I refuted by providing not 1 but 3 audience metrics and went on a tangent, kudos on that side stepping btw. And regarding reliability, ignoring the fact that RT and Cinemascore are the only metrics which actually utilizes verified audiences, what do the studios and industry which prefers and uses Cinemascore/PostTrack and us on this forum who have tracked movies/BO for more than a decade know huh. You do you mate and use whatever metric floats your boat. I have no interest in changing your mind and continuing this asinine argument.

Critics wise yes Flash has better scores but audience wise both Shazam 2 and Black Adam have better Cinemascore and verified RT reviews which are the only 2 reliable and verified scoring system out there. Even Metacritic user review have Black Adam higher than Flash. I doubt it will drop as much as the latter two. Shazam 2 faced John Wick in its second weekend and The Flash had awful audience scores. Blue Beetle does not have any big openers in its 2nd weekend (except Gran Turismo and thats not a big opener) and its audience metrics are better than The Flash. Plus with summer coming to an end and more schools opening weekend holds should start getting a bit better. It likely won't hold as well as BA did and will likely fall in the 60's region though. Usually in times of financial turmoil mergers and takeovers are more likely than breaking up imo. I mean look at banks and financial institutions during and post the Great Recession, many of them merged and became even more "Too Big To Fail" (which btw is an excellent movie if anyone has not seen it yet)

Lol i’ve just zoned out of this thread, only coming to see if there are any new numbers (which sadly are inexistent this weekend, seems all the number guys here and on the net don’t care about BB). The repetitive discussions are exhausting. Also funny that there is more discussion about Spidey and other Marvel properties than Blue Beetle which actually released this weekend.

Hmm I haven't seen the movie but I read on reddit that there is a scene in the movie which could be problematic in China. The user did not specify what the scene was about. I wonder if that is true? -

@Issac Newton Is Blue Beetle definitely not coming to China? Can't find anything via Google. -
You are off by a factor of 100x. Cinemascore compiles its data based on average 400 returned surveys - https://www.thewrap.com/cinemascore-gets-studios-especially-when-it-counters-critics-87701/ Cinemascore is slightly better imo than RT verified score, but both skew more positive than actual general audience reaction. Cinemascore samples OD audiences who are bound to be fans of the movie/franchise/actor and thus more likely to give a positive response. Similarly RT score relies on people to actually give a damn about reviewing the movie (whether positively or negatively) to go on the site and leave a rating, that also means mostly fans doing so. Cinemascore is better in the sense that it at also captures the responses of the people who couldnt be bothered to go to RT and leave a review.
