  1. Disney and Universal! WB as well! Paramount just has Baywatch, Ghost In The Shell, and TF5. Sony will be fine with sequels, Bad Boys 3 as much as I'm exicted to see Martin Lawrence and Will Smith together on screen again I have a feeling the film will flop. The Equalizer 2, I really liked the first movie but Denzel can bring in a film though.
  2. July 2016 overall brought in a solid $1.370.5 billion which is the best ever for a July since 2013, and the third best month of all-time! Universal/Illumnation Entertainment's original film The Secret Life Of Pets led the month with a very solid $296.8 million domestic, and should make around $350 million total! In second place, holdover Finding Dory made $138.7 million for the month of July and has grossed an amazing total near $470 million domestic and should come close to $500 million domestic total. At the beginning of the month, The Legend Of Tarzan surprised the month with a total of $121.8 million and a solid $311 million worldwide. A total of about $130 million and near $350 million worldwide which would be a win for Warner Bros. other successes for the month include Star Trek:Beyond($106.4 million), The Purge:Election Year($78.3 million), Jason Bourne($59.2 3-days), Mike & Dave:Need Wedding Dates($43.9 million), Lights Out($42.8 million), and Bad Moms($23.8 million 3-days). Two other holdovers helped out the month as well, Central Intelligence made $45.8 million for the month of July and has overall grossed a solid $125.3 million, and Independence Day:Resurgance also $45.8 million and with a so-so $101.9 million. But a month can't be without its bombs, Ghostbusters had a solid debut but has died out with a total of $106.4 million and hasn't been doing much better overseas. Ghostbusters might break even worldwide but not enough for a franchise. The BFG made an atrocious $52.1 million total and less than $100 million worldwide on a $140 million budget($185 including P&A costs). It also marks as Steven Speilberg's lowest grossing film since Munich($47.4 million) which had better attendance even. Ice Age:Collison Course also crashed and burned with a total of $42.5 million domestic and will make $55 million domestic but most likely north of $60 million domestic, with even overseas making more money it marks as the lowest grossing entry of the franchise(ouch). Overall 2016 has made $6.954.3 billion so far which is up 3.1% at this point last year! With July doing solid business, August could actually come close to or even outgross August 2014's record with Suicide Squad going anywhere from expectations to $145-$150 million OW. With Suicide Squad, Fantastic Beasts, Doctor Strange, Moana, Sing, and Rogue One:A Star Wars Story 2016 could become the new record breaking year!
  3. I'm waiting for Box Office Mojo to update the monthly all time number for July 2016 to see how much it increased or decreased with the actuals coming in.
  4. The top 12 of this weekend in the actuals increased to $179.6 million which is up nearly 29% from the same weekend last year!
  5. I'd like to see it do that! It looks good, and I really liked the Evil Dead remake.
  6. The 3rd quarter of 2016 has overall made so far solid results. August should be another $1 billion. September at about $715 million.
  7. August 2016 predictions: Suicide Squad:$145-$150 million OW/$340 million, Sausage Party:$30 million OW/$100 million, Pete's Dragon:$26 million/$80 million, War Dogs:$18 million/$50 million, Ben-Hur:$16 million/$40 million, Don't Breathe:$14 million/$40 million. Jason Bourne as a holdover does $100 million in August, and Bad Moms does $50 million in August.
  8. Legs and dailies should be fine. I don't know what affected this weekend. Overall the film is a hit with its 20 million budget and it could do 5x its production budget worldwide. I liked Bad Moms, I thought it was pretty good.
  9. It should do solid overseas. If it performed like Wahlberg's Lone Survivor that would be great!
  10. July 2016 has overall made more than July 2015 and 2014. It is the best July since 2013! More about this solid month tomorrow afternoon!
  11. Deepwater Horizon could have been San Andreas level hit, What Now? 4th Of July weekend.
  12. A pretty funny movie! The three lead females are hilarious! There are a lot of relatable things in the film especially stuff that my mom is the type of person who shows up late to places, and has things happen to her like coffee spill on her and things. There are lot of relatable characters in the film, and overall I had a lot of fun with the film! I also enjoyed some of the bits with Christina Applegate vs. Mila Kunis, and Kathryn Hahn(Carla)trying to get Mila Kunis(Amy) another man and talking some of the weirdest things ever. It would definitely be one I would buy on home video and watch again! Grade:B+
  13. Overall a solid end to July! Audiences decided to be Bourne Again this weekend, as Jason Bourne led the weekend! While Bad Moms had the best debut for small newcomer company STX Entertainment, and a solid start for an R-rated comedy. While Nerve had a decent start. Overall the top 12 which is at $176.9 million which is up nearly 27% from last year when Mission Impossible:Rogue Nation led with $55.2 million. Jason Bourne is on top this weekend with an estimated $60 million this weekend. Which is ahead of last year's Rogue Nation, and Matt Damon's last film The Martian. Jason Bourne is also well ahead of The Bourne Legacy's debut($38.1 million) four years ago. Although the film has an alright 69% audience score on rotten tomatoes, Suicide Squad coming out on Friday, and the Olympics also starting this Friday. Jason Bourne should do fine, look for Jason Bourne to ends it run with $175 million domestic. In second place with an estimated $24 million, Star Trek:Beyond had the steepest drop of all three films. The drop was near 60% and was on-par with Star Trek V:The Final Frontier's second drop back in 1989. But was a better drop than Star Trek:Nemesis(72%) in 2002. Overall with more IMAX screens taking over, and more competition look Star Trek:Beyond to beam around $165 million domestic. While it wasn't too far from second place,Bad Moms debuted with a solid estimated $23.4 million this weekend. That debut is well ahead of Friends With Benefits($18.6 million), Forgetting Sarah Marshall($17.7 million), How To Be Single($17.8 million), Tammy($21.5 million), and Vacation($14.6 million). Moms debut was on-par with The Boss($23.5 million), but was less than Trainwreck($30 million)and Bridesmaids($26.2 million). Overall with a solid 78% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, and the lack of female driven films this summer Bad Moms should hold up strong. While $100 million doesn't seem out of question, a total for Moms seems about at least $80 million domestic. Nerve had an alright start with an estimated $9 million 3-day($15 million 5-day), not a bad start for a $20 million budgeted film. But look for Nerve to kick its way around $30 million.
  14. Suicide Squad:$145 million, Nine Lives: $5.7 million.
  15. Overall though very solid opening day numbers for Jason Bourne, and Bad Moms. Jason Bourne has had the strongest debut for the Bourne franchise and strongest debut for actor Matt Damon since The Bourne Ultimatum. Bad Moms has had the best original R-rated comedy debut since Trainwreck. Wait for tomorrow's weekend estimates. I have a feeling that this is going to be very exciting to talk about. Bad Moms will make a $100 million I think guys.
  16. Really either way solid early numbers for Bourne & Moms. Bourne could do $55-$58 million 3-day and do about $160 million domestic. Bad Moms could do $28-$31 million 3-day and do about $100-$105 million domestic. Overall quite solid. Nerve will be modestly sucessful but nothing to cry about.
  17. STX is making a comeback after modest budget flops such as Hardcore Henry and Free State Of Jones.
  18. 2 million for Bad Moms that's quite solid! Female driven films have been forgotten about this summer, and not bad for a Mila Kunis or Kristen Bell led film.
  19. I'm waiting for some wifi area. AT&T texted me that I used 75% of my data so I will be back later. Anyway not start for Jason Bourne a debut north of $50 million is quite solid!
  20. Only competiton for this seems to be Why Him? But I think this will not get hurt considering that Paramount could give this a solid marketing push with the holiday season a few weeks after release, and solid word of mouth. But this should do about $80 million domestic total. Once when Paramount kicks it up around Thanksgiving I"ll change my projections.
  21. Sully could have awards talk, and appeal. Tom Hanks and Clint Eastwood can bring in the film. Magnificent Seven should serve as the blockbuster of the fall! Not sure about Deepwater Horizon just because Mark Wahlberg in a film doesn't mean it's a hit. Deepwater should perform like Everest did and make better money overseas. October also looks very stacked but @mahnamahna I think you're Girl On The Train number is kinda low I'm expecting a debut around $35 million.
