  1. To your point and much to my despair, considering this still opened to over 83m after posting almost 60m in its first two days before the weekend, I sincerely doubt this drop represents any frontloading.
  2. I hope DM2 has shit legs. I don't want it anywhere near TS3!
  3. So is at 58.1% drop for MU one of the worst in Pixar's history? Gotta be up there, right?
  4. I can't wait for The Good Dinosaur. I hope that movie is as inventive and creative as Pixar's earliest work. If that comes out mediocre, quality wise, I'll be on life alert. I didn't realize all those were being released that summer. Thanks Kayu. HTTYD2Ninja TurtlesFast 7ApesSin CityASM2 (sue me)22 Jump StreetSeems like a fun one
  5. I must admit... I'm a little scared to say anything remotely negative about TLR. I feel like I'll get shanked by shayhiri.
  6. I never hated this movie like everyone seems to hate it... Morbid curiosity, i guess?
  7. I'm not sure why I'm posting since I haven't done so regularly for almost half a yr, but I felt the need to do so in this thread. Dwight will only hurt the Rockets with his spoiled, childish behavior. DM2 is a monster in the same neighborhood as TS3. Whodathunkit?I hope MU recovers today and begins it's charge toward 300m again. I kinda, sorta, for no real reason wanna see TLR.
  8. Favorite comedy - Superbad and Hangover (people will try to dilute how great TH was because of the crap sequels, but the first was just off the charts). I suspect I'll be adding This is the End with time as that movie settles in and joins the ranks of all time greats. I actually never understood why Bridesmaid was so hilarious to the rest of the world. I didn't find myself laughing as much as I had hoped.
  9. This. MU pretty much got destroyed by DM2. Prior to it, it was going VERY strong and then just got obliterated on Wed. Thurs, it was one of the movies that dropped, although that may have more to do with it being an animated flick than DM2. At this point, MU fans can only hope that it stabilizes and continues to have similar or better drops prior to DM2's release, but with much smaller numbers. Damn it, I was really hoping for 300m for this one. I love the Monsters characters. Not a fan of the DM world, although the minions are pretty damn funny and cute, but Gru and company just don't do it for me at all.
  10. Yeah, I really need to come back, but I don't have much free time. I do visit and lurk for a bit, but then ride off into the sunset.... Only to come back a couple sunrises later
  11. I swear with this place... I love this community, but sometimes folks here are the embodiment of hypocrisy. They chew ppl out for hating a movie like DM2 and make them seem like a villainous, evil person, but then turn around and shit all over another movie like TLR to the same degree. How is that any different?Anyway, DM2, you average son of a bitch, is doing gangbusters numbers. Good for it since it seems to appeal to lots of people and Universal also needed this. Looking to top 300 m with ease and win the animation yr. TLR - what more can be said that hasn't been said already? It's in an even worse off position when you consider the cost to make he film. Kevin Hart is a BOSS. MU - I weep for you, my beloved. Keep on chugging TITE.
  12. Let's be honest here - yes ChD is a DM2 hater, but he's only taking a lot of shit because he hates against DM2. If he were saying the same exact things, but substituting DH2 with TLR, nobody would say a word. That said, ChD, you are hatin, but I'm with you. I don't see the big deal surrounding DM - it's pretty average to me. Although I don't agree with you that the signs weren't there for it to be this big. It was always in the best position to win the animated contest for the year.
  13. Ummmm... did you not read the last sentence in my statement? I said it hit astronomical WW numbers. Um, thanks for agreeing with me?
  14. Dang it, I was still holding on to hope that MU would beat DM2. What very little hope I had before last night is now gone. Unless WOM is just bad, DM2 is going to win the animation battle.
  15. Weird, but it never dawned on me how true this statement was. I think I only saw wow, huge opening and wow, huge total, but never put them together - that opening should have yielded a better gross. Ehh, oh well, Disney is rolling around in money, since it did hit some astronomical numbers WW.
  16. I agree with sentiment that MU didn't quite resonate from an emotional level ala TS3's Andy saying goodbye and incinerator scene or Up's Carl and Ellie montage or WALL E's love story, but then the lake scene between Sully and Mike takes place and I threw all that out the window. Up until that point in the movie, everything was all fun and laughs and it didn't hit those chords which was fine, as that made it an entertaining film, but once that scene takes place, I thought "Pixar is at it again".
