  1. LOL. Relax, what I meant was JLaw would get nominated many times just like Meryl. I know there will be only one Meryl Streep.
  2. Seth Macfarlane was pretty good actually. I really enjoyed the show this year. Also, JLaw is gonna be the next Meryl Streep.
  3. Wow I'm not so good at predicting this year. I got 5 categories wrong. Btw, what happened in the end? Seth is supposed to sing, right? They cut it here and ended the broadcast abruptly.
  4. So Life of Pi wins the most Oscars this year. Congrats to Lee! So well deserved. And bye-bye best picture for Lincoln.
  5. Well, they actually LOVED 3D. Just look at Avatar, Alice, and TS3, the only Hollywood movies that crossed 10 billion yen in the last 5 years. They even made their own 3D movies. But then they got bored pretty quickly. Maybe the ticket price is too expensive, I don't know. Skyfall is already the highest grossing Bond movie btw, so it's pretty good actually. But I can understand how Ted is so successful. Japanese already love the cute teddy bear. To make him a drunk, party-loving guy is imginative and different. And Japan IS imaginative and different. That's why Ghibli, and especially Miyazaki's animations are dominating the all time box office.
  6. Like what has been stated earlier, there's no inflation in Japan. In Yen, Die Hard 3 made around 8.2 billion, while HP8 made 9.6 billion, TS3 10.8 billion, Alice 11.8 billion. So we can compare and say that HP8, TS3 and Alice made a lot more than Die Hard 3. But yes, there's 3D so they are on around the same level, attendance-wise, with Alice probably still higher than Die Hard. So the fact that Die Hard made that much IS amazing.
  7. BOM says it opened with $1.8m in Indonesia. I think that number is for 5 days. If that holds, that is big, summer big. With no competition until March, it can get $4m+, probably enough for top 10 of 2013. Die Hard 4 was in the top 10 for 2007 too (with $1.75m total). So I guess we love this franchise.
