  1. Zendaya would want another season. She could make history with a 3/3 win especially as Emmies are partial to final seasons. Elordi and Sweeney get a lot of focus on the show too which is why it's reported all 3 of them insisted Levinson return.
  2. The way they defeated Peltz and immediately went on to announce this. We stan!
  3. Right. We don't need that with the Age of X dawning on the MCU. The mutants already suffered enough with Murdoch-owned Fox for two decades.
  4. Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi had a 3 year difference. It's FINE.
  5. That's not what @Krissykins is saying though? If you had been following social media discussions in 2016 (you're incredibly fortunate if you missed it), the swirl leading up to GB 16 was incredibly toxic for months on end before it even opened and anybody could possibly know the quality of the actual film. The numbers that the film put up were used as some kind of justification that this is what happens when "women steal men's franchise/when grown male fans are disrespected" blah blah. Basically a precursor to "Go woke, go broke". So it's funny that when they brought back the OG cast now as those Lady Ghosbuster hating ppl demanded, it's doing worse than the 2016 film despite near 8 years of inflation. To be fair this is not a good release date but you'd think people who cried for months demanding for this cast would turn up in huge droves? Instead, Frozen Empire is behaving almost identically like The Marvels, a movie that the same crowd would uphold as the pinnacle of floppage without mentioning that it was the only MCU flick that the cast couldn't promote due to the strikes. So convenient and this is why regular people should never pay attention to such spinning, much less studio execs and CEOs 🥱
  6. I don't think you need to be the MOST conventionally attractive to be a romcom lead. When Harry Met Sally is still the omega in the genre IMO and it stars Billy Crystal who isn't exactly a Chalamet. Also as an aside but related, I feel like Tom Holland has Tom Hanks wholesome superstar energy that modern day studios don't know how to channelize beyond Spidey.
  7. I don't understand how Amy Pascal hasn't thought of casting Zendaya and Tom Holland in a rom com yet. That's money being printed right there.
  8. She is already a star. But Challengers becoming a hit would mean she may be a Julia Roberts/Sandra Bullock level box office superstar that has been missing from Hollywood forever. To be clear, Challengers breaking out in late April is more of a challenge (no pun) than pre-established IP like Wonka coming out in a pretty desolate holiday season. So any comparisons between her and Chalamet's BO pull would be nonsensical.
  9. Gaga and team better deliver with the original songs. Not this Hold My Hand milquetoast shit. Shallows level or bust. There is so much potential with the characters that the Margot Robbie films slept on (both exploration wise and musically). Grimes's annoying ass never shut up about being a huge Harley fan and when she finally got the opportunity to write for Suicide Squad, it was such a letdown (a precursor to the following years of her life I guess)
  10. I hope Challengers overperforms for Zendaya's sake. Euphoria was marketed on HER popularity after all, something that's easy to forget with all the Elordi/Sweeney hype going around lately. I mean, even if Challengers flops she'll be fine as Spider-Man 4 is around the corner but it would be great if she displayed some BO pull outside of the big franchise fare.
  11. KFP4 and GxK outperforming their predecessors shows how starved the strikes made audiences for franchise blockbusters. In no other situation do I see these two films putting up numbers like these.
  12. Frozen Empire dropping from Afterlife (even if it was a small drop) can't fill Sony with excitement especially as Afterlife came out when it was still the pandemic and FE boasted the "original stars" that fanboys claimed they wanted when GB '16 came out.
  13. Avatar moving back won't delay FF. FF starting shoots in August will delay FF. If Avatar moves then December becomes prime property again. But Sony will grab it for Spidey coz Marvel can't challenge them over it as FF is no competition for the wall crawler. So I suspect FF will take traditional MCU release date, the first week of November instead.
  14. Sony would call December dibs for Spider-Man 4 if Avatar is pushed to 2026. I see an Eternals/NWH situation then with FF4 releasing in the first week of November.
  15. Even the average alt-right rage tuber is smart enough to stick to softer targets like The Marvels and not criticize Black Panther in their gazillion anti-woke rant videos (at least not in thumbnails). The fact that Peltz went after BP too doesn't just show his bigotry but also reveals he is way out of touch if he doesn't realize how big those movies were financially and that they were the biggest splash made by Disney blockbusters in a long time. Even if I were purely cynical and just into the numbers and PR, that would be a red flag for me right away.
  16. I think Iger would have preferred to have voting take place after the surefire hits that are IO2 and D&W but the members have stayed loyal to him so far. If he's smart he should immediately nab Peltz and point out that Black Panther was a 1.3B+ movie with a huge cultural impact and several Oscar wins and how such a monumental film wouldn't have been greenlit under Peltz. Ofc he too has bought into the anti-woke BS to an extent with his "Our films have become too political" comments. X-Men '97 has the heroes literally fighting insurrectionists and that is Disney+'s biggest animated series debut since What If? Season 1 in peak MCU popularity era.
  17. This woman is the best thing to happen to the intersection between the Cinema and Fashion Venn diagram circles
  18. I wonder what songs they've included if the royalties also contributed to the budget ballooning up to 200M+
  19. I'm a bit confused as to what in the tweet contradicts this. Also Gold Derby is a legit source for early test screening reports. They're more into awards predictions than the comic book film rumor mill.
