I can always get excited (sometimes way too excited) about Tarantino movies. But then I'm a big fan so maybe that doesn't count.Kinda agree though, I would love to see him try his hands at some other genres. Horror would be interesting.
Yeah, the tonal shift bothers me somewhat. And him not taking his mom's hand don't seem right, it's like it has to be like that in order to set up the climax scene.
I rewatched this recently with my little cousins. Still loved it as much as the other times. I thought its funny, charming, and creative as well. One of my top favorites animations either made or distributed by DreamWorks. A-
