  1. PR is No.1 at all Top 12 theaters. And No.1 at 17/20 top theaters Is it an IMAX thing? Still, that's a pleasant surprise. I'll take it
  2. I see, thanks firedeep Wow, so new movie opens everyday. Tough luck for MOS. But well, it did great and succeeded our expectations already. Sur la piste du Marsupilami, is that an animated movie about this adorable fictional species? I remembered watching cartoons about them, very cute creatures, pretty good cartoon too.
  3. You mean 6 days. So basically Tuesday will be its last day to make some decent money. Daily gross will drop even if it's on weekend? So the screen count must be dropping every day from now until its run ends on Sunday. Chinese BO sure is interesting
  4. Looks like MOS could pass The Croods total of 394M yuan for No.2 Hollywood release of 2013 so far?
  5. What do you mean Olive? Cause Ed was right, after its 31st day, SR was at 183M, it ended with 200M, so it did make 17M more after the first 31 days (all according to BOM numbers)
  6. Olympus Has Fallen, one of the main reasons why White House Down failed domestically.
  7. Why the sad face? It looks to finish 680M-690M, that means you will be within 50M, that's very good. My prediction is 690M, we'll both get 10,000 points
  8. LOL, true. But we Americans were too cheap to pay to see a movie that's kinda similar to another movie out just a few months ago I don't wish failure on it or anything, in fact, I hope it's a success. Facing off against Turbo looks like it'll be tough. But hey, the title is White House Down, maybe the Russians will like that
  9. For our SOTM 8: MU and TITE are done. NYSM is at 113.3M with a 1.3M weekend, so barring any big surprises, it will get there. Looks like MOS is the decider, doesn't look like it'll get to 300M that soon though.
  10. I see, never look at it that way. I probably should pay close attention to the budget more. About its quality, I don't think it's a disaster either. I don't like it and found it a bore, but not a disaster like many make it out to be. Comparing to SR, MOS is definitely step in the right direction for WB/DC, both quality wise and BO wise IMO. Hopefully, they're not just gonna sit on it and keep on making only MOS sequels (we do need sequels) but gain confidence and branch out, give their other characters a chance. I have been waiting forever for a Wonder Woman movie
  11. I think WHD will fail somehow, it's kinda too American
  12. Well, not that I don't want the bonus, but damn you DM2 for dropping in actuals. After actuals for DM2, Jake Gittes should get the bonus, he's closer than me, his number was 470.649, and actual is 471.577 Edit: never mind, I use BOM numbers, which were wrong apparently (is it wrong? Their number for DM2 OS is 100k lower than BO.com)
  13. Yup, great success, especially for a reboot. Never says otherwise bud Sorry that I took you wrongly.Shame that the chance for it to reach 400M OS is small now, but I hope it can pull in good number from Japan, setting up nicely for a potentially bigger sequel over there. BTW, What did you predict for MOS WW in BSG?
  14. Funny Ed. I have been saying how MOS gross is great for it. I never put MOS down for what it's doing BO wise. I don't put other movies down either. But sure, let me find some thing that I need to get over. Nope, can't find any cause I'm happy for MOS, and glad that we'll get a sequel, maybe a DC connected universe even. I thought you know that. But well, okay.I replied to the other guy cause like I said, I found it funny, so I just offer something that are "in proper perspective" :)BTW, Ed, MOS beat the crap out of Batman Begins. That must make you very happy
  15. Thanks, so seems like my feelings were right, I thought Turbo looks to be an animated movie that'll break out in Russia.
  16. LOL, I just checked BOM, and comparing to Rth numbers, every movie's projections are overestimated, by quite a lot, only TFR is the closest
  17. Assuming that DM2's Sat is what Rth posted yesterday, 17.4m, that means a 28% drop for DM2. 13.4 Fri, 17.4 Sat, and 12.5 Sun gave it a 43.3M weekend. Actuals could be higher I think, but looks like the studio projection was overestimated.
  18. I voted MU with "Yes on OW, No on total" over TS3 in the poll earlier. Looks like that is the likely case, but I'm rooting for it to have the legs to surpass TS3, seems very unlikely but as long as it's over 10M, that is great. Thanks for all the updates Bluebomb
  19. Yay for The Heat Good holds for both DM2 and MU
  20. Hard Boiled comes later in the game But I remembered watching A Better Tomorrow pretty early on. That's one awesome movie, I still love it to this day, and consider it one of the best Hong Kong crime drama/gangster movie of all time
  21. It's not that they're strict, they just never cared to, or gave much thoughts about it, since they bought all those VHS of Disney and other kinds of animated movies, I guess they figured those were enough. I have a bit of Asian in me, so I grew up on Hong Kong gangster and kung fu movies, as well as tons of wuxia series Korean dramas were a stable too
