  1. Yeah, it got all the problems: economical crisis, price inflation, and all the pretty things that come with having a Communist government. The association with China definitely doesn't help either. In Vietnam, the gap between rich and poor keeps getting bigger and bigger, it's ridiculously sad
  2. I see. Do you know how many markets it has opened in, Olive? With the current total, looks like it'll be at 460-470 by Sunday?
  3. WWZ is still doing well. 5M will be a piece of cake.
  4. So up to Friday domestically, but when OS? Sat?
  5. I seriously doubt it. Vietnam is in an economic lump right now, with serious price inflation problem. Despite the relatively big population, I don't think its BO potential will ever be fully developed. It's a communist country FWIW.I know for a fact that ticket prices in VN are really high, basically watching movies in theaters is a luxury, and it is a popular form of entertainment present only in big cities (mainly Sai Gon and Ha Noi) Almost all small cities and rural areas don't have movie theaters. It's developing sure since recently, IM3 is the highest grossing movie over there, but that bounds to happen when you have more theaters and high ticket prices.Good news though, for me at least, is that TA2 will be huge over there come 2015 for sure.
  6. I think I might be the only one, but I hope 2 Guns break out. Very much look forward to it, seems like a fun, silly little movie suitable for summer season. And well, any movie with Denzel Washington is always a plus in my book.
  7. There goes another movie in my Top 15 *sigh*
  8. Let's see, that would be DM2: +43% TH: +54% TFR: +43% MU: +25% (any chance you switch MU and TFR's numbers? ) WWZ: +43% WHD: +32% LME: +88% MOS: +34%
  9. Ah, that explains it. Thanks Rth. So the previews will be lumped and reported together with OW figures, right?
  10. Well, WWZ was doing better than MOS, maybe they should have cut down MOS's showtimes instead. Kidding, I know MOS is in its 3rd weekend, so of course they can't do that Well, both NYSM and WWZ are break out success, so I can't ask for more. Thanks for updates as always, Bluebomb Keep on chugging MU
  11. I was very surprised (pleasantly) at Thor and Cap's, especially Cap's gross in some Latin America territories. It would be very underwhelming of Supes to open under both of those movies' takes; considering how Thor and Cap are virtually unknown characters in the OS markets. If MOS opened soft in Brazil, do you think it's cause of the late release date? Is piracy rampant over there?
  12. That would be 36-42% Fri jump for DM2. What would that translate to for the weekend? I'm guessing about 40-45% jump tomorrow and 25% drop Sun?
  13. I pretty much look forward to 2015 myself, so can't say that I'm sad about the lack of original sci-fi for that year. To be honest, all the sci-fi this year so far have been pretty meh for me, so can't say that I'm too bothered about them flopping. I haven't seen PR yet, and I hope I will enjoy the movie (which in turn, could just make me sadder for it) I also have high hopes for Elysium and Gravity. Next year line ups look promising too.
  14. I was kidding. If only we had convinced Shay to watch PR 7-8 times instead of his dreadful designated 5 times, maybe the Shay curse would have turn out for the better
  15. So cold Olive, so cold But then, you need it to stay under 705M WW, looks like your chance is looking better and better. I also wouldn't mind it stalling at 690M, so we're on the same boat here
  16. Thanks for the updates Rth. Bummer for PR BTW, do we wanna know what SR stands for? Or is that a typo?
  17. You has become an expert at teasing, Rth I'm sure lots of members are holding their breaths for your updates right now
  18. The Sat increase for WWZ is very underwhelming, did it got shortchanged with too many releases and ended up with limited showtimes?
  19. Thanks for the update Rth Well, it's doing better than SR so that's good I guess, but I was hoping for higher. A Superman movie doing less than CA is kinda, well, underwhelming
