    I still think holiday season can help the legs. But the thing is, for a direct sequel to BvS that has to combat the toxic WOM of that movie and get to a good multiplier of 2.7-2.8x, you need reactions that say “this movie is absolutely amazing, you need to go see it asap!”, and not “It’s pretty good, better than BvS” (which is what I see is the more popular consensus from our members here) 2.4-2.5x is my guess.

    I’m surprised it’s Casa Blanca and not Palladium for San Antonio. It’s always Palladium for blockbusters opening in SA.

    It matters how exactly? Like releasing everywhere at once give you a better multiplier or what? The concept of multiplier is you take total gross divided by opening number. It’s that simple.

    The Harry Potter franchise is a completely different beast OS. Comparison between it and a superhero movie in the OS markets have little value.

    Ragnarok looks to end right around $110M total. Good result.

    0.1%? But that wasn’t the goal in the first place. As soon as we know that 800M is locked, the next hope has always been the 850M milestone.

    You mean 600M OS? Or 600M WW? I hope you don’t put much stock in the former cause that’s a 0% chance.

    That’s a harsh weekend-to-weekend drop I think? (-68%?) But the weekdays was great before that and make up for it. Understandable though with JL as direct competition. 738M globally is in the high end of what I projected earlier too. I see it recover nicely over holiday. 530M OS and 310M Dom. If Dom can push higher, $850M WW would be nice.

    A Sun drop in the vicinity of Ragnarok. Not unreasonable but I think actual will be lower. Unless Sat number was better than the estimated 33M

    It’s only down about 7% from Wonder Woman’s OW. Slightly better than the AOU-TA drop off even. Great success.

    Rth in the JL OS thread Don’t see how it get enough late bump from Rth estimate to get 200M OS.

    The spins already happening with OS numbers where JL Friday OD figures in certain countries are touted as better than Ragnarok ODs on Monday/Tuesday and the likes. The WW numbers report tomorrow will be fun.

    That’s like 155M for 3-day OW, lower end of my expectation. And with like 50M-55M from China already. I can’t see 500M OS total off of that. Thanks Rth.

    Let’s go with 180M OS opening weekend. 2.6x gives it about 470. +27M from this week Wed/Thu. And like 10M from Japan. That’ll put it at 505M OS. 2.6x legs seem a bit generous too. So I think it’ll be a really close call for the 500M OS milestone.
