    Good hold in US this week gives me hope that it will have a nice recovery in the OS markets as well. Assuming a ~50%-55% weekly drop OS, Thor’s WW total through Sunday could be really close to 800M. I’m seeing 795M-798M.

    From 8.5M Thu, following exactly Fantastic Beasts weekend holds get JL to 40.22M 3-day (-57.1%)/59.17M 5-day for 171.07M total by Sunday. Following MJ1 gives 42.41M 3-day (-54.8%)/61.36M 5-day for 173.26M total. With MJ2, you get 42.83M (-54.36%)/61.78M and 173.68M total

    Following Moana weekend trajectory will give Coco 50.8M 3-day/72.94M 5-day Following Dr. Strange will give Thor Ragnarok 17.9M 3-day (-17.4%)/25.4M 5-day and 278.6M total through Sunday. I can see both movies going higher since Coco’s Thu drop is already better than Moana, and Thor increases/drops have been a few points better than Strange most days so far this week.

    So around 14.5M OS Tuesday and 12.5M OS Wed. Did some projections and I’m thinking it’ll be around 470M-480M WW after this weekend.

    Great numbers for Coco. I can see it going higher than $70M too. Base on reactions around me, the Hispanic community is really responding to the movie. Guessing Deadline using FB to project JL’s numbers. In that case, I can see it less than that.

    2.6M for Moana last year, so I say that number is good for Coco

    South Korea is just not a market for DC. Btw, is The Swindlers still in preview/limited release stage?

    Good holds/drops for JL so far. With little competitions for the next two weeks, I think $100M is a very good bet. Thor and Orient Express been doing solidly as well even with lower numbers. Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday numbers barely has any drops. Thor will comfortably make it pass Logan’s 730M. I can see it push for 740M

    A quick look at theaters around my area I’m seeing Coco selling crazy well, which is expected since it’s San Antonio. One of these days I’m gonna start doing my own theater reports/sell out counts and stuff.

    Why are some of you insist on the victimized mentality and self-pity over movies is beyond me. It’s a BO forum. We pile on good performances with awe, and we pile on bad performances with laughter. It’s that simple.

    The selling point of BO following is the up and down. You can praise/be amaze at overperformers. You have the underperformers to ponder about. And then you have outright flops/disasters to laugh at. It’s all about the balance.

    The increases/drops have been slightly worse than Ragnarok so I think JL will end around the $100M mark, give or take a couple millions. Maybe if it can manage to hold on to a decent amount of screens on its 3rd weekend then it can make a push for 105M What movie(s) open on JL’s 3rd weekend?

    Congrats on the new baby! 3 is a nice number. That’s my goal for the future.

    There’s a severe lack of good and/or high-profile animations out this year, especially compare to last year; so if Coco delivered, I think it’ll play really well over break. Can’t even remember the last time I watched an animated movie in theater this year (LEGO Batman maybe, that would explain why I can’t remember)

    Can’t do that. He already locked it in with Marvel to lead the highly-anticipated Inhumans movie.

    Can’t even pass The Avengers, how sad. What happened in between last year and this year that make New Zealand hate Taika?

    Yeah, in a lot Texas area, kids usually get the whole week of for Thanksgiving. University usually only officially start holiday break on Wed (which doesn’t mean much really, since most of the time, either the professors want early break and peace out from teaching or students just don’t give a fuck and take break early themselves)
