Stunning, addatoday projects only 6-7cr nett Monday for Thugs. If producer figure for Monday is 7-8 tomorrow then 155cr total is the target imo. Race3 at 170-175cr nett will stay the biggest film of the year so far.

I don't understand that last sentence. In what sense, race 3 is the biggest film of the year?

Trade Hindi collections for Monday,

Quote
Thugs Of Hindostan Takes Huge Hit On Monday

Thugs Of Hindostan has taken a huge hit on Monday with collections of 5-5.25 crore nett. The writing was on the wall with what happened on Saturday and Sunday with a clash being inevitable and that is what has happened.

This takes the business of the film to around 122.50 crore nett in five days and the first week will be looking at a total of 135 crore nett. The downfall is all over as even UP and Gujarat fall heavily on Monday despite the latter being on the last day of its Diwali holiday.

The film will continue to suffer over the next few days and also in the second week when business could be next to nothing and it could stay below the 150 crore nett mark which actually should have been covered in the extended weekend even if the film was just decent. Its a huge setback to the industry as its the big ones that have to score big to have a big year.

https://boxofficeindia.com/report-details.php?articleid=4432

Am guessing Producer (all-India) collections will be 6-6.5 Monday 129-129.5cr Nett 5-day

As some parts have Diwali holiday till Wednesday, Thu will have a big drop. PRDP dropped 27% on Thu as Gujarat is the best market for Sooraj Barjatya films and Gujarat has extended Diwali which ends on Wed/Thu.

Thugs falling 15% on Tue and Wed, followed by 20-25% if not more on Thu should be expected. Friday drop should be 50%+. The film is looking at O/U 150cr using producer figure. Won't even be Average/Above Average (Race3) or Semi-Hit (Dilwale, Talaash), but will get an outright Flop tag after setting OD record and having no competition in Diwali. A crash of this magnitude may not be witnessed for a long time. Trimurti probably was the last time something like this happened. Ranbir's Besharam was similar but not close to this magnitude.

Jab harry met saijal too droped above 90% in second weekend but it had mediocore opening.

true, an SRK movie doing sub 65 cr is a huge shocker too. It's first week was 60cr and then added 5cr more . Thugs will be 140 week 1 + 10 at most = 150.

Hilarious. If zero does above 300 cr. SRK will be back to the top along with other two. Wonder when someone will take over 3 khans in consistency. Ranbir will be back to his normal after sanju.

Post Dhoom2 and Krrish in 2006 Roshan has a lot of 12+ month gaps between 2 flicks.

2006 - Krrish (Blockbuster) and Dhoom2 (Blockbuster)

2007 -

2008 - Jodha Akabar (Hit) ... 14 month gap after Dhoom2 (Nov 2006 to Feb 2008)

2009 - cameo in Luck By Chance

2010 - Kites (Flop) and Guzaarish (Flop) ... 26 month gap after Dhoom2 (Feb 2008 to May 2010)

2011 - Zindagi Na Milegi (Superhit)

2012 - Agneepath (Superhit)

2013 - Krrish3 (Blockbuster) ... 22 month gap  (Jan 2012 to Nov 2013)

2014 - Bang Bang (Hit)

2015 -

2016 - Mohanjo Daro (Flop/Disaster) ... 19 month gap

2017 - Kaabil (Semi-Hit)

2018 -

2019 - Super30 ... 24 month gap if it keeps the date, else more

Akshay has 40 films 2007-2018 (12 years)

Salman has 23

SRK has 16 including Zero

Aamir has 10 including Thugs (also included Secret Superstar, Dhobi Ghat)

Hirhik has 10 (including Luck By Chance)

After 3 Idiots in 2009 Aamir was quiet but followed up with Dhoom3,  PK and Dangal. Dhoom3 was commercial but PK was the real game changer imo. That film becoming the biggest ever was shocking.

2009 - 3 Idiots

2010 -

2011 - Dhobi Ghat

2012 - Talaash

2013 - Dhoom3 (ATB)

2014 - PK (ATB)

2015 -

2016 - Dangal (ATB)

That is one horrible run of movies. His last well reviewed and hit movie is ZNMD. Krrish 3 was so lucky it released just before social media became huge, else it would have collapsed on day 2 as well. I still regret watching that movie in theaters.

i enjoyed both Krrish3  and Kaabil. But yeah he could have done much better considering he took his time. It's not like was directing and producing like Aamir (TZP, Dhobi Ghat, Secret Superstar).

Brahmastra will be huge too. Whether bad or good, KJ knows how to make entertaining movies.

I think Aamir god run started with ghajini. It was highest grossing movie at it's time. Then 3 idiots almost doubled it. Aamir has 5 movies as highest grossing movie of all time at different time. For a decade, no one overtook him, other than SRK with chennai exoress.  Ghajini, 3 idiots, dhoom 3, pk and then dangal. And then bahubali almost tripled it, making a joke out of hindi film industry.

Salman run started with wanted and dangal. Never gave a single ATB in that. But came close several times. Specially with ek tha tiger.

SRK have chennai express. Wonder when he will make another movie with shetty. Rajkumar Hirani have 2 and sanju. In actress, it's between deepika and aliyah. Katrina and kareena don't have a mega hit without khans in recent years. Kangna's future project looks off but who knows. Shradha is doing good too.

Naa SRK need to beat Dangal for that.

Besides, Ranbir is going full blown commercial post his experimental projects. Next three are Brahamstara (Xmas 2019), Shamshera (Bakrid 2020) and Luv Rajan next.

Ranbir realized doing offbeat projects isn't helping him anymore. Brahmastra part 1 will be interesting, I have faith in Ayan Mukherjee and the world he has built. Definitely will have put more thought into it than Krrish or Flying Jatt

Tuesday- 4.25 BOI Hindi nett for Thugs.

Guessing Producer All-India will be 5 and take it to 134 Nett.

4 (-20%) on Wed - 138

3 (-25%) on Thu (extended holidays end; PRDP dropped 27%) - 141

<10 more rest of the run

How much money will Indian Distributors loose?

Zero.

YRF has its own distribution network. They have sub-distributors whom they pay 3-5% commission.

thanks. can you explain a bit more? imo someone will be on the receiving end of things as it's a zero sum game.
