Peeta Tong Karanasios
South Korea OD (thur) Admissions: 175,969 Gross:$1.2M Biggest OD for a march release. Very good! It also opens in Mexico this weekend! The film's opening is 15% above Inception, three times bigger than Snow White & the Huntsman, and on par with Gravity.

If the number remains consistent, NOAH will have a strong run there. Europe is a sweep.
Rsyu
INCEPTION made $38M n Korea. If the number remains consistent, NOAH will have a strong run there. Europe is a sweep. I don't see this doing inception numbers in korea. Noah has little to no competition now but next week Captain america is being released. It's possible that CA2 will be poorly received like the first avenger was but I really doubt that. Chris Evans is a much more recognized and popular actor now than he was then, and the avengers did really well too so it has great potential. Also Inception was released in July, Noah isn't going to have those kind of legs during march, one of the weakest movie going months of the year. The rating too is way below inception (6.75 to 9.19), not conclusive evidence I know but it shows the general audience isn't fully accepting it. Only way for this to do inception numbers is if the christian community embrace it like they did with passion of Christ. don't see it happening unfortunately. A Marvel Fanboy
They are damn right to give this a 3D release OS. Robocop made a big mistake not doing this same. All big Hollywood movies should go 3D for bigger BO returns. 300m seems a certain at this point. Edited March 21, 2014 by firedeep

A Marvel Fanboy
Except TWS is coming soon. I doubt it has Gravity legs everywhere. Middle 300m (350m) should be target first.

zackzack
Will China be a huge factor? I think this will clean up well in Europe, and South America, the more religious continent, would follow. I suspect it will do OK to good in Asia but the action/adventure styling may attract audience beyond the religious crowd. I think it will do more than $285M OS, judging by the positive receptions in Korea & Mexico. Edited March 23, 2014 by zackzack
