rukaio101
This is a vote to decide which are the best films beginning with each letter of the alphabet (eg, which is the best films beginning with A, B, C, etc). Because apparently doing something like this is an easy way to get likes. And God knows, I love me some likes. We'll also be voting on which film beginning with a number is best, but I couldn't put that in the title without it sounding kind of awkward. The Rules 1) Vote by either PM'ing me your ballot or posting your ballot in this thread. You can do both, but your vote will only be counted once. 2) To make things interesting (and to avoid tiebreakers), you can vote for your three top films for each letter. Ordering will be important and points will be allocated as shown. 1. 3 points 2. 2 points 3. 1 point In addition, films will get extra points for appearing on multiple lists. YOU DON'T HAVE TO FILL IN EVERY CATEGORY IF YOU CAN'T/DON'T WANT TO. Sorry about putting that in caps, but I've seen enough people ask about it on other threads that I'm not taking any chances. 3) Film titles beginning with 'A' or 'The' (like A Christmas Carol or The Exorcist) will obviously be sorted into their categories without including 'A' or 'The' (so the examples listed will be put in the 'C' and 'E' categories respectively). 4) Foreign films are allowed, but their category will be determined by their English name. So Princess Mononoke (Mononoke-Hime in Japan) will go under 'P' rather than 'M'. If the film doesn't have an English title (or has multiple English titles), then its name on IMDB will be what we go by. 5) Direct to TV films will not be counted 6) For franchise films like Star Wars and Lord of the Rings, its category shall be decided by the full title. So, instead of 'Empire Strikes Back' it'll be 'Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back'. However, since 'Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark' was first released under the title 'Raiders of the Lost Ark', it'll go under R. The rest will go under I though. I'll be using the title in IMDB to decide which title a film will go by, if it has multiple titles. 7) If you want to change/add onto your list, then you're welcome to, but make sure to send me a PM telling me about it first, especially if I've liked it beforehand. Voting will stop on the 30th of November, although I will extend/shorten voting time depending. For those who want it, here is an easy copy+paste layout for your entries. No# 1. 2. 3. A 1. 2. 3. rukaio101
Okay, here's my list. Apparently, it's very very difficult to find many films beginning with Q, V, X and Y. Who knew? rukaio101
I disagree with one major aspect of the core format. All Star Wars films being with S. They should all be under S. Same with all other franchise films that title the same way. I admit that (the subtitle rule) seems to be the one aspect I'm having the most complaints about. However, I'm somewhat undecided as whether to remove it since I've already got a decent number of lists handed in, many of which would have to be redone. rukaio101
Okay, I've made the official change to the rules, since the old subtitle rule went down about as well as my homemade Lard Burgers. From now on, the category a film goes into depends on its full title, so So, instead of 'Empire Strikes Back' it'll be 'Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back'. However, since 'Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark' was first released under the title 'Raiders of the Lost Ark', it'll go under R. The rest of the Indiana Jones films will go under I though. I'll be using the title in IMDB to decide which title a film will go by, if it has multiple titles.
