everything was amazing to perfect in KFP2

Got to disagree there. One of the things I liked so much about KFP2 was that it wasn't just a rehash of the first film's plot. Po hadn't lost any of the competence he gained at the end of the film. The furious five already trusted and accepted him as a friend and, instead of the whole film being about training him, the film was about him finding out about and coming to terms with the loss of his real parents.

If the first film was a physical journey for Po, then the second film was a emotional journey. Completely different.

Also, I much preferred Gary Oldman's peacock as a villain compared to the villain from the first film.

I don't think they are that different, Of course there was no training in the second movie, it wouldn't make sense to repeat everything, what I meant is that they just brought some silly reason to show fighting animals saving China again.

I didn't find the plot touching at all, and I don't think Po is funny, he is annoying and over-the-top. Plus, the furious five are so underused and there is barely any character development.

I will never understand how this and Puss in Boots were well received in 2011.
From which evil animal will they save China again in the next movie?

The remaining 6 movies are Ratatouille, Wall-E, Finding Nemo, Spirited Away, The Incredibles, and Toy Story 3. I must say that I have developed an intense hate for Spirited Away over the last few years because it's the most overrated thing on Earth. It'll be a total nightmare for me if it landed on Number 1 as it often does in animation top 10 lists. I don't think it's a bad movie. I just don't see what it has to be praised so much just because it's "different" and "artistic" or whatever makes people crazy for it. I just DON'T understand why people love it so much...I don't...

All my replies on this thread are opinions. Please guys, don't be offended by them like many do. (I'm saying this because I know what's coming) *sigh*

I hope Toy Story 3 wins. Now that's a masterpiece.

je suis pretentieux? non, i just don't find pixar/disney/dreamworks/etc. to be very interesting to watch. depends what you're looking for in a movie, entertainment vs ideas etc.

No way Spirited Away is winning over TS3 here in the forums.

well, the claymation style is very unique, sepia toned with splashes of vivid red. the humor is very wry and acerbic, and it explores its two subjects, one a young social reject and the other an aspergian man, with both caustic observation and understated sympathy. it is original in every freaking way.

I just saw Frozen yesterday, and it would be even higher on the list. had i seen it when I made my list.

Yeah, same here. I forgot about this countdown completely after watching Frozen last weekend. I would have changed my list so that Frozen would have been my new #1 or #2.

I'm glad Mary and Max made the list as did Persepolis, both of them should have been higher than some of these films, but what can I say, the CGI Pixar and Dreamworks will win out.

I also forgot about the Triplets of Belleville, it didn't cross my mind it was a post 2000 film, otherwise I would have voted for it.
