I just found out Frozen was CGI and not traditional (I haven't seen any advertisements, just low-res youtube clips of "Let it Go").

 

 Ugh...I'm still waiting for the traditional animation renaissance.

How Many theaters will it loose?

I don't know, waiting on that answer myself. However, 5 weeks into release and it's still at 3K+ theater/screen count starting from a 3,800 count. That's been a damn good hold. The bottom has to fall and Hobbit 2 seems the likely time.

Pure handdrawn animated movies most likely wont happen soon. We could be getting a hybrid of the two just like Paperman. Actually I'm kind of hoping they do it with Giant or Moana. Moana may be interesting since its Hawaiian themed and Lilo & Stich is a favorite of mine.

Yeah, don't know about other places, but a theater near my school was giving out passes for early screening. My friend gave a late notice and I missed it.

I'm pleased my hunch was so spot on. I think in the TDW thread I had posted I suspected an 800 or theater/screen loss.
